they were a group of excitable chinese fans . sat next to us at the GOLD tour .. i didnt tell em to shut up .. i was listening to em .. cos they new the names of all the unreleased songs that i heard ..that were played on video ..an in the gig .. so i was just taking notes lol .. id say let em enjoy there experience . however they want to .they got a ticket.. but dont let em make ures any worse ..
fact is the volume of concerts is so loud ..that a bit of talking aint gonna distract u .. unless u are petty an let it ..
whenever i want to hear some new music ...i make some - prince '99'

When I attended the aftershow on the 14th of August, some lousy drunk men were shouting "just sing!" as they obviously could not appreciate the fantastic instrumental jam session.
I had to reply "just shut up!" they were just too silly and too drunk to react but it worked it was only music to my ears after that!.

What kind of concert have you been going to if you were able to hear someone talking? A symphony or something? Every concert I've ever been to, including Prince, the music is so loud that you have to holler into your friend's ear for him to hear you....and that's the kind of concerts I like.....LOUD.

at one of the musicology shows where i had front row seats, some heifer next to me had the NERVE to chat on her cell phone during the whole show. and she wasn't JUST holding her cell up to the stage (which of course she was doing, RIGHT IN FRONT OF PRINCE) but she was babbling to people about stupid unrelated shit, and trying to yell over the music (sometimes while the man was right in front of us doing a guitar solo).

SO.

every chance i had to clap, i clapped with my hands as close to her cell phone as i could. every chance i had to yell, sing, scream, i did so as close to her cell phone as i could. i'm not sure how much it deterred her, but if i even got on her nerves a fraction as much as she got on mine, then my work there was done. lol

i don't think i've ever told someone 2 shut the hell up, but it does annoy me when females scream right in my ear ...

but the best i've ever heard someone tell someone else 2 shut up is during the ONA aftershow in dallas, this one woman was whooping and hollering almost ever 20 secs and prince didn't even start singing, in fact it was erykah badu coming up 2 the mic..then next thing u know this guy tells her "WILL U SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!" 2 the point where it almost got confrontational. eek bitchfight

i was SHOCKED during lollapalooza...we waited over an hour in the heat to get up front to see amy winehouse, and right before the show, a couple of idiots shoved through the crowd and planted themselves right in front of us, COMPLETELY blocking our view. i very loudly asked my sweetie if he could see anything and he very loudly replied NO!!!! and the people who barged in front of us heard us and were actually kind enough to move to the side of us. i was shocked!

Something happened on 7-7-07 that was totally uncalled for. Normally i'd make allowances or exceptions but this was totally RUDE and i was not able to step aside.
There were a group of fans who had bought pre-aftershow tics to First Avenue the night before the concert and were told to be there at 3pm for pick up. There was the regular line for those who had waited all day and another line for the ones with presale tickets.
Because the Macy's show also was to start admitting people at 3pm some of our friends went there while we hoped to pic up our tickets and theirs at First Ave.
Once the doors opened and people started going in, all of a sudden a tall white male appeared and started pushing his way to the front of the line.
If he would have said he was in a hurry, had some important reason to go first, i would have gladly stood back and let him in. But he was swearing and pushing and i decided i was not going to let him pass only to bully my friends in front of me. When i stood my ground, he became more furious. I was trying to tell him that i was with the two women in front of me\ who happened to be of beautiful color.
He was shoving and almost spitting but i didn't let him pass me. We received our tickets soon after that and as i passed him he yelled out to me: "WHITE TRASH." As he was leaving in the car parked conveniently on the curb, i told that he learn some manners!

Hard to believe that this guy was a Prince fan, i had never been treated so rudely at any Prince event.

I'm surprised he didn't do anything! Once when I was at a show (not a Prince show mind you) a friend kept calling my phone to the point it started to beep loudly/obnoxiously, so when the singer left the stage for what I thought would be a minute, I took out my phone to turn it off, but as soon as I looked the up the singer was standing in front of me and asked who it was Dx

During a Sting concert a few years back during an accoustic moment in the show the people behind us were passing a cell phone back & forth with their friends sharing their pictures & stories about their trip to Italy & the lovely wedding they attended. Why pay that kinda of $$ for tickets & then use that time to chat? I've sworn off concerts for awhile because of that & other horror stories at concerts.

actually, the people around us up front were really nice and we all had one of those rare situations where we all had each other's backs and weren't tolerating any budgers or cutters. i think the people who squeezed in front of us got a whiff of that. i wish every GA show could be like that!

7/7/07 in Minneapolis I could not see the show from my seat, I had floor seats and row 32. So I had to go stand in the aisle right behind this drunken female who basically was falling all over the place. She could not hold her liquor and she was still guzzling beer. She was singing loudly, out of tune and dancing of course out of rhythm. At one point she almost lost her balance and flung some beer in my direction. Being the nice person that I am biggrin I just walked up the aisle past her closer to the stage and this usher was really nice did not mind me standing there. I didn't say anything to the drunk, I was afraid she would wack me with the bottle. neutral

Yes. my mother and I attended a Madonna concert (the girlie show at msg). There were two drunk couples behind us who kept interrupting the show. one of them spilled beer in my mothers hair. We dragged them down from the upper level and proceeded to whoop their asses. Than God it as the last song(holiday) and we didnt miss anything when we were all ejected from the garden.

I understand how this guy felt...I was at a Roger Waters concert a couple of years back and I'm quite sure that it was also every 20 seconds this guy kept howling "ooooow"...it drove me nuts...finally his girlfriend told him to shut up...

dude, that sucks. more power to you if they're assholes who haven't waited and elbow their way to the front at the last second, but i've been bitched at numerous times for having the gall to be tall and relatively close to the stage. even got spat on one time. ill i accommodate people and hunch down as much as i can, but i wanna be up front sometimes too! lol

& to answer the thread, i've done it once to a girl who was blathering on while the singer of my favorite band was explaining the meaning behind a pretty somber song (a memorial for a little girl who died in a car wreck on her mother's wedding day). she looked mortified and actually shut up. mr.green
