Do you think prince's music would have made the same impact without the gender-bending and mystique of his earlier years?

(imagine prince had spent his whole career playing in "everyday" outfits, like now {meaning less risque casual/dress outfits} and he interview as much as an average musicain and paticipated in the hollywood game like any other celeb)

Let's say he played the same music (For You to Planet Earth), but no theatrics save the lyrics on each album.....would he still be declared a lengend by the world at large?


(try not 2 say yes just because your addicted to him...we're all in the same boat pretty much)

In some circles a lot more people would be listening to him now. A lot more.
