Essay

1978 through 1993 - marked the reign of musical genius that tantalized his audience, fellow musicians and critics alike. From the beginning the undeniable power of Prince - reckoned itself a force to be dealt with, whether on stage or on wax. Prince’s style tightened up the genre’s that were being forgotten and adding originality to the up and coming techno world of pop. His sound was a culmination of rock, blues, soul, funk, and jazz mixed with some highly charged lyrics be they racy or seemingly indiscreet – he mocked the current trends of music, fashion and the familiar. Prince was a shy quiet sort of celebrity that let his appearance tell you what was on his mind, and when all else failed the lyrics told you exactly. He was playing music to hear how good he could make it sound, how funky he and fellow band members could get the groove to flow, it was all about music, love, sex and people vibing people.
1994 through 1996 gave the public at large a very different look at Prince the international playboy and all his liaisons. The music still cranked out at high speed and the lyrics were nothing if not more eloquent and risqué and equally resonating as a decade before, but he was changing becoming – moving towards a closure in his life. He was no longer the carefree spirited nymph. The music was not enough; he was no longer concerned with people or his music of ways before. He was embroiled in turmoil over his record contract with Warner Brothers and he had just lost a child – things were to never be the same at the once princely kingdom of Paisley Park.
1997 into the present, the man we called Prince is still here with a lot of funk left to give, yet he has alienated himself due to perversions he has with his fans, their appreciation of him and just with the music world at large. Falling from the pedestal of a highly acclaimed futuristic enigma – that you hid from your parents, he has become a bible thumping, (EDIT for religious purposes), that makes people even wearier of him and the music he is generating. He is no longer a viable source of entertainment or a cutting edge musician, he has been relegated to the stature of a mere relic – dismissed long before he was ever truly gone.

What exactly do you find perverted in his actions?

No longer a viable source of entertainment? I'll give you that. But no longer a cutting edge musician? NOTHING could be further from the truth. I'd take that out if I were you.

ok... didn't you all read the disclaimer...
this is written for people who have not heard mention of Prince in many moons (u know that lunatic name change) they have no idea that he has even thought to release anything in the past 10 yrs. i'm sorry if it hurts - really... but i must claim a Prez Bush on this complete autonomy...

its a contrast report based on from whence the royal bad ass came to partee - to what relevance he has to date... and the truth is an ugly thang, but we all live in the REAL world (alan jackson) and we see how the world regards him...admit it or not.

his perversions - if i have to tell you ...

and Pfunk U are so on the money!!!

this is due tomorrow lets see if the critics really love me.
