New album doesn't mean new songs. Maybe, some songs were pulled from the vault? Maybe?

You know someone told me that she suspects he stopped making new music a while ago, and the majority of his new stuff is just vault material.

Never know. He's done stranger things. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Lion Of Judah sounds like an old 1985 song. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

This did cross my mind. I forget what song it is but he mentions something about being paged. I believe technology has advanced since the pager days nevertheless this is an excellent album.

Matrix...I also think Prince gave us a clue when he did the promo for "Guitar". He placed a photo of himself from each period of his carrer as the cover on 3121.com. [Edited 7/21/07 11:05am]

[Edited 7/21/07 11:05am] I'm sure that could not possibly be alluding to the fact that he has always been a guitar-driven artist.....

I think the entire cd is of old material...that we're just now getting to hear...

I'm almost 100% sure it's all new material. it doesn't sound like anything old & it's very cohesive.

to me, it sounds like Cinnamon Girl "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Some of it sounds like old production. For example, The 1 U Wanna C at first glance sounds like it was produced back in the 80's. However, think about the lyrics. "I ain't trying to be a hater"...the term HATER didn't come out until 2000 and something! I don'tknow...mabey he revamped the song a little!

You can still be correct.Maybe the hater line was just recently added. Personally, The 1 U wanna C is my favorite on the album. It's different but very Prince like. Love the chorus too...

Of course. Don't ya'll remember the ealry to mid 90's rumors of how P had more than 1,000 recorded and ready to go? To me those were never just rumors and of course his recent ouput had to borrow from that. If not entire tracks, than at least ideas and lyrics.
I'm gonna say it now. I doubt he will release a new album next year, 'cause that would make it 3 back to back. It won't happen. BUT! In 2009, something big HAS to happen. If that symphony shit ever does happen, it just might shit on everything he has done up until that point. Kick the old school joint 4 the true funk soldiers.
1. Sign 'o' the Times 2. 1999 3. Dirty Mind 4. Parade 5. Purple Rain

Prince does sometimes take older songs, but then reworks them completetly.
He would never take an older song, and release it as is. The only thing on 'Planet Earth' that sounds dated is "Mr Goodnight". The songs "Planet Earth" and "Guitar" were recorded with Mike Bland and Sonny Thompson, at Paisley Park in a recent session. "He's a musician's musician..."

Yeah, I remember the days of the old pager! Gotta find a pay phone!! People do still page each other somewhat though. That's usually an option for when you call someone and they don't pick up their cell phone. Something like "To page this person press 5 now."

Until you add some hardcore facts and proof. I'll say you're delusional. Peace and be wild!
