Habibi (NPGMC Song)

Could someone tell me some info about this song? What's it sound like?? What's the story behind it?

I can't find it anywhere and I'm dying to know a little more about it

Great song!! Prince's guitar work at his finest, in fact, his guitar playing on this track reminds me of the late, great Jimi Hendrix. I'd be interested to hear the story behind it, since I don't have a clue.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

^What?

It's a live-take version of Jimi Hendrix's "Machine Gun". L4OA made some statement on 1998 about Prince recording a version of the track for the Hendrix family to use "free of charge".
That said, it wasn't made available (via NPGMC) until 2001, so perchance 'Habibi' is a different track...although it does have a few lyrics from "Machine Gun".

Great track though.

Yeah. The drumming definately sounds like John Blackwell to me, so I would guess it was recorded circa 2000.
