I attended a "Prince vs Michael Jackson" venue in SF awhile back, and had forgotten how extremely talented MJ was in his day. It's easy to forget, as his personal life had taken over the spotlight.
At least Prince is still performing and putting out music, and keeps his personal business under wraps. I don't visit MJ websites for a reason. It's all a distant memory.....plus, I spend too much time here, anyway. | |

Prince and MJ cannot be compared period! It is like comparing Apples and Oranges.
I think the most they have in common is they are both African American Males in their mid to late 40s. Prince is a great Musician / Vocalist / Instrumentalist but he has more in common with other artists other than MJ. Prince arranges and records most of his music and does all of it himself. MJ is a great Musician / Vocalist / Dancer and has much more in common with other artists than with Prince. I am a fan of them both and appreciate both their music. I would never have classed myself as a Michael Jackson fan, but I do appreciate his music from the 80's and did see him live in Cork in 87 (or 88 not too sure). I always way preferred Prince, my best friend was a MJ fan and we always used to have the healthy banter, but to be honest now I think the whole MJ saga is so sad - he's famous for his court cases these days not the music - plus whats the last thing he released. I think its a shame that he has wasted his talent - then I can safely say "he's got issues"!! | |

Grown people still argue over whose the best between Prince or MJ? So sad. Anyway, MJ has undoubtedly made a historical impact on music which sadly has been tainted by his actions. Prince has also made historical musical contributions and has managed to keep his personal business, problems under wraps. If my vote goes to anyone it's going to Prince. A man that can do all the things that he does, has the respect of his fans and other musicians and wear heels at the same time has to be something special  | |

Oh My God somebody said that Michael Jackson is more unique than Prince
But this is wrong of course...Prince is the unique 1 cuz he knows who he is and doesn't care what ppl say but Michael Jackson changed his skin colour and that's really stupid...so he's not unique @ all...that's my opinion  | |

Plain and simple ... there was NO proof and he was found NOT GUILTY. DEAL WITH THAT!

I laughed when I read that! MJ: And WHERE is MJ today???? I havent heard a thing (or album/CD, let alone a song for a movie) from him for who knows when. PRINCE: just released a album called Planet Earth this year.Sure he may have skipped a year before releasing another album(correct me if Im wrong here folks) but he STILL makes them. MJ: SURE he was aquitted on the charges that was brought against him(was found innocent). He STILL has a mug shot! Prince: NO MUG SHOT!!!!! Let alone NEVER been arrested for ANYTHING!!! You know what? Both Prince and MJ are incredible artists! Just different which is great! Of course, I prefer Prince but I love a lot of MJ's music also. I may not agree with his personal style and life but it doesn't affect my love of his music. Remember what Prince said, he isn't in competition with anybody. He doesn't need to be. He does what he does because he wants to and you can either like it or not, he doesn't care. He likes it and that is what matters. Prince is so damn cool..... You get a brother in trouble, girl! | |
