Rilo Kiley, some indie rock band I've never heard of, covers Prince. Not usually a news-worthy item but you can actually download a mp3 of them doing a bit of Purple Rain, which is cool. They're a GREAT band. I just posted about their most recent album Under the Blacklight, which is not like the rest of their stuff, a bit more playful poppy. But they're one of those band that seem to morph with every album.

And Chaka Khan has a new album called Funk This coming out on Sept. 25th where she covers Sign O the Times. Haven't found a clip of it yet but I can just imagine her wailing on the chorus in her signature multi-tracked self background vocal style.

There must be something in the water because my friend took me to see Incubus last Friday and they did a cover of Let's Go Crazy, which according to a report i heard they hadn't done before. It was pretty cool, but their guitar player couldn't quite play the solos as well as Prince, but then again who can?

They are indeed a good band, i saw them recently at connect festival in Scotland with the sun setting behind the castle, Jenny lewis was sporting hot pants. chix playing guitars, cant beat it.

Man, who did that "Sometimes" cover? That was incredible.
