A nice, but somewhat unspectacular closer. I expected something bit more epic when I first saw the title, but it's a good little tune. If it wouldn't have been the close, it would be quite anonymous, but being the last sng gives it some extra weight it can very well use.

This song is similar to Cinnamon Girl in its structure but with better melodies .... But Cinnamon is original and works better as social song, not a forte for Prince, at least has certain mathafor.
Resolution is good, fresh and something different to end a typical prince album.., I always expect another song to finishing it ... and I suspect that there is another album comming soon as part of the same project...

i often wonder what motivates these people who seem to come on here an spill negativity on stuff that most of us are litening to an getting blown away by .. i mean they must sit an think 4 ages .. this song isnt bad at all .. an these same people dissing this would proberbly be the same ones who love stuff which is not half as good from the 80s .. now i am all 4 every1 been entitle to there own opinions . but i do honestly think that these critics an so called fans are just nostagic an dismissing an not liking new stuff b4 they even heard it .. as daddy pop himself said 'living in the past when they need to be living the new' so 4 the people who aint closed an clinging onto old memorys . the new stuff is what it is ..just as good ..often better ..different ..really is all cool ..most of the old stuff is cool .most of.the new stuff is cool . the new stuff however in general has alot better music aswell ..i personally hate the production of alot of sign o the times disc one tracks like SUNSHINE/HOUSEQUAKE/IT/DOROPHY PARKER ..ect an all sound 10 times better re-done with new skills ..an.people will hear DELIRIOUS.D.M.S.R..WHEN U WERE MINE live an then be slightly dissapointed with the studio versions when they hunt em down ...but thats about it ..most of the other songs work perfect as they are ... ..anyway i drifted off track RESOLUTION ..has a kind DIRTY MIND/ PARTYUP feel to it ..but sounds like the band progressed by 100 times .. love the song ..it is catchy as hell ..an quite irresisteble ..it might be slightly nieve .. but we no he aint . prince just kept it short a sweet lyrically here cos they were enuff available time an lines in the melody to write DR MR MAN vol 2 .. so it is what it is ..catchy as hell pop with a great message an very beautifully sang an played . wendy an lisa ..this is very REVOLUTION ..NEON TELEPHONE .kinda bouncy feel ..an i heard it an smiled an thought god bless him an them .. this is anthemic ..an really pics up on the last part .. Effortless Prince-- easily the most likable song on the album!!

This has become my favourite song on the album, it's taken a while, but i'm fond of this track

I love this song. It is my second favorite track behind Planet Earth. It is funny- I have read many opinions about this song by fans and critics alike. They say it sounds too preachy and they want to hear songs like from Sign O'the Times and Purple Rain, etc. If people want him to talk about humping and grinding and sex, etc., listen to other albums. If they want to hear SOTT, PR, 1999, listen to those albums. Prince will be 50 soon. He has other things on his mind as he should; as we all should. I think it is incredible that he is using his platform to talk about issues that impact our existence. "Resolution" is a very simple and effortless pop tune for Prince. If you want people to listen to the message, it should be placed in a form that is easily digestible. This song is such a song. It is catchy as hell and it is the type of song that you can just sing along to and feel very good about it. Get the idea? We all need resolution. This world is fucked up! And this is what we need. This war has and is destroying families all over the world. I have known of several people who have died in this war, and as Prince put it, " the main problem with war is that nobody ever wins." Even if it doesn't make a huge social impact, the seed is planted and hopefully will encourage one person to fight for social change and freedom.

probably one of my favorite songs, the wendy and lisa vocals give it a lost dream factory track vibe, I plan on playing this in front of the white house one day
