Its catchy - I'll give you that.
But it sounds to me like it should be running over the closing credits for some teen movie. And I don't mean that in a good way.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this song. It sticks in your head the way a good pop tune should. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Prince hasn't sounded this playful in perhaps 2 decades. I adore every element of this song, particularly the "hey yea yea yeahs" by our girls. The song bursts with an energy that Prince hasn't displayed in awhile. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

I just can't get past the lyrics...really cheesy and immature. Hard to believe "Planet Earth" and this song are on the same album. A very good lyrical song, and an absolute horrid one. I agree on the "teen movie" comment.

I was expecting the awfull light rock-Prince (The marrying kind,If I was the man..,Can't stop this feeling,Ronnie talk 2 Russia,..),but
instead we get the fun rock Prince (Play in the sunshine,Baby knows, I could never take the place...). not bad at all! Love4oneanother

I don't understand why some people dislike the lyrics so much. Sure they're simple and throw-away stuff, but they're also fun and light. I wouldn't mind them too much. Fit the song, IMO. At least they're not "you need to do this or that or you burn in hell" kinda stuff.
Actually, I quite like this verse: U're 2 tall 2 be talked down 2 2 overhead 2 be put under, Like any spell the blind fisherman could cast, That's why I come like thunder

actually...when it comes to prince...it's VERY believable. It's easy to find someone who likes every song on a White Stripes album. They're all similar enough. I't next to impossible to find a person who like every song on a Prince album. They cover a whole range of ideas and topics and sounds. I hope that makes sense.

It DOES make sense to be honest...I guess it's just frustrating after all these years. And it's only getting weirder now that he's almost 50..."Lolita" was shite in my opinion and this is very much in the same vein. Even "Guitar" with the club references...at what age do you stop writing songs that involve "clubbin'?" His music genius is undeniable...but it looks as if his lyrics will always be hit and miss. I mean "Jughead" was on the same album as "Money Don't Matter 2night," so it's not unprecedented. Peace.

Like the lyrics/the music..not so much "Bring friends, bring your children and bring foot spray 'cause it's gon' be funky." ~ Prince

After listening to this a few times, one wonders why this wasn't chosen as the 1st single? This is the only single on the CD that has the potential to be a top 40 POP hit.
Score: 8 (out of 10) | |

This just sounds fun and sounds like P having fun. I like it but I also am a big Shania Twain fan also.....or was until UP. She's part of the small bit of country I listen to. "Why'd I waste my kisses on you baby?" R.I.P. Prince You've finally found your way back home. Well Done.

Score: 8 (out of 10) I don't think Prince gives a day-uhm about having a top 40 hit. The old Prince, you know the one with the mirrors on his boots? Him, maybe. Not this one. Mm-mmm. Nope. "Plaid shorts are completely over."
