Ok I understand exactly what you’re saying, but how is it his fault that it’s generating so much publicity. He only made the deal with the newspaper company and everyone is all freaked out about it. The record industries r upset and generating the free publicity. They’re pissed off and getting there panties all wet because they’re not in control. They need 2 stay out of his business and handle there own failing empire. Prince said he’s willing 2 do the work, now all of a sudden he’s being paid and everyone is freakin out. Give me a break, whatever publicity he gets without coming out his pocket is great. Let’s see how the cd sells in other countries and then we can talk. It’s a great cd from what I’ve heard and looking forward 2 the release of PE. You have to admit sosgemini that pennylover has a point. Prince made the deal with the Mail newspaper, but has not said anything publicly about it at all. If he has, I havn't seen anything. I can see if he was doing a big media blitz to talk about it every chance he got, but he hasn't done that. He made the deal, the industry fokes got wind of it and got pissed off which led to all the news coverage. Again, I don't think Prince has said one word about this publicly. This whole "guimmick persona this whole deal has taken on is not his doing (at least I don't believe it is). The media has blown this thing up because of all the music big wigs he pissed off.

baby, if people were allowed to hear good music, the Hanna Montana double CD wouldn't be on the Top 10, nor half of the other cd's. the whole state of radio is part of what Prince has been talking about...I remember during the Musicology tour he said something to the effect that we were going to here live music by real musicians, and how it's a pity that in NYC we wouldn't hear his songs on the radio. Radio is about payola, once again. I truly think Prince is finally at a point where he doesn't care about where his cd charts, he wants his fans to have the music, and he will make his dough re me by ticket sales.

prince can't get credit for the sales of an established product with a proven sales record. That's like saying "American Idol" is a hit because he performed on it for a few minutes...
If anything, he was lured to the product because of its proven sales record. It's not like he picked Dustbunny Collectors Monthly...
