Rediscovering "If I was the man in your life" thread this track is kind of hot. Should have been a single.

This came on my iPod yesterday and I was thinking about how great a track it was; very unique song. I love the flow of the verses and the music behind them. I especially like the "Sunday chocolate on the roof" harmony.
I wish it didn't end with that boring jazzy instrumental... should have just kept the bouncy melodic pop going! A song that is definitely aging well for me. (except for the phrase "get your mack on", which was old then.

It jsut ends so quick ... I was bumping it one day and a bunch of the homies was like "Is that Prince?" This is a jam and then it ends... One of the gems on Musicology ... 2004 what a year Prime aka The Kid
"I need u to dance, I need u to strip I need u to shake Ur lil' ass n hips I need u to grind like Ur working for tips And give me what I need while we listen to PRINCE"

Love that two-song combo of The Marrying Kind and If I Was The Man in Your Life. Great stuff.I feel ya on the ending, but I really do enjoy it still. I wouldn't have minded it bouncing a while longer. I guess he was trying to keep the two-song package short and sweet and blend as nice as possible into On the Couch.

Me too! They didn't hook me until after a few repeated listening sessions, but I have to admit they're definitely a highlight on the album. Just say "NO" to cow mucus consumption!

the only song on Musicology that grabbed me at first listen
the album is worth getting if just for this song alone (i also like "On The Couch" & "Call Me")

I go absolutely nuts over this song. ed it at 1st listen it's so smooth, a kind of "lay back and pop your fingers" if u will kind of groove! surviving on the thought of loving you, it's just like the water
I ain't felt this way in years...

I love the way The Marrying Kind segues right into that. At first I couldn't tell, it took me 3 listens to figure that out, lol.

A very nice song indeed.
The main problem with is, it is way too short.

I love that song too. Its on my phone. I'm gonna go listen to it now
I bought the Musicology album I think last year or the year before for £8 which I thought was expensive considering how long it had been out for. Worth it though. Illusion, Coma, Pimp & Circumstance was kinda weird but most of the other songs were really great. I like On The Couch and Call My Name also. Musicology is so much better than Planet Earth. Planet Earth needs more upbeat songs like Musicology had! Funky.
