the different speeds of camille

anyone notice his voice in 'the grind' and 'the future' is slightly speeded up while 'if i was you're girlfriend' and 'u got the look' are faster, and are the limit he has speeded them up on a main vocal? (i suspect some artists have slightly speeded themselves up to sound younger though).

the only stuff i think he has slightly slowed down the main vocal are 'work that fat' and maybe 'bob george', which sounds like a mixture of vocal timbres.

it sounds like a different character has adopted the prince role and it was done without being an obvious studio trick.

You mention Camille in the subject but most of the songs you're talking about are NOT Camille tracks.

You should probably replace "The Slightly Sped-Up" song examples that you have mentioned should be replaced by something like "Strange Relationship" and maybe some parts of "Housequake".

who is camille? i thought it was a prince persona appearing around 1986, noticable by the speeded up voice.

those tracks i have mentioned i think have a different vocal timbre sound to others on the same albums (apart from rock hard in a funky place and bob george). the effect is easily created and the variance is speed can be very slight. i dont know whether prince used the exact settings for all his camille project songs.

It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

OP is right about "The Grind". Prince has slightly sped up his normal vocal register on that track. Probably to give it a bit more edge, or so.

I have heared him done this on other songs also, but the names dont pop up in my head at this moment.

I dont hear any speeding up or slowing down on "The Future", on the other hand.

Tracks are only "Camille" tracks if they have been labeled as such by Prince. It isn't a free-for-all where any song with effected vocals get tossed in the same pot.
