How Prince fused me and my girl To whom it maybe of interest to:
I met my girlfriend of 4 years, 4 years ago. No surprises there but, when we had our first date, it was lunch and well, during lunch I said to her: 'so what kind of music do you like?' She looked at me and said 'OK, I am going to come clean, Prince. He is my fav artist'. I looked at her in shock, and said, no!...She was all worried as she thought i was into radiohead and cool indie pop music and stuff -Prince was just so unexpected...and I said 'Me too!, no seriously, I love Prince, I have been a fan and a collector etc for years! i can't believe it!',,,It doesn't sound that strange right? Well in Sydney Australia, 4 years ago, it is unusual..and besides she in a fan and has no friends that are, and same with me, I love Prince and have no friends that are too. So here we are 4 years later and we are going to see Prince 3 times next week together. Just chance it was, the relationship and the common musical love. Anyone else got a story like that? FUNKY IS HAPPY TO SHARE THAT STORY ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

You know, that's beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. What a good thing for a couple to have in common.
I was told by a non-prince fan that there are prerequisites to being a Prince fan. The main one, is being a 'freak' in the bedroom. I didn't disagree, I just smiled like always Prince can be the most Sexual/Sensual artist ever! And through his music; he has made many nights with my girlfriend memorable. Oddly she own Rave and TRC. She gladly listens to the rest of my Prince CD's, but I wouldn't call her a fan. She's Jamaican, she likes that new guy Sean Paul, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Lauryn Hill. So you can imagine our playlists... Jammin' mon Blue Blue

How heartwarming! It's funny how Prince has a way of bringing people together, isn't it.

10 years ago i gave my girl a tape with the beautifull ones on it to convince her to give up her old boyfriend and be with me.
This year we went to the celebration together for our ten year celebration. She has gone from "yeah , i like Prince" to being a complete groupie. So we will B in Rotterdam, Antwerpen, Oberhausen maybe, and Rotterdam again this year.

The first time I met my long time girlfriend we connected talking about Mountains and how beautifully powerful that song is.
Oh and her name? Wendy...and she's as beautiful as the day I met her. I took her to the Kodak One Night Alone show for her birthday. We had a blast as always!

My story is a little more sad!
Four years ago my marriage to Tracey broke up (she left me, no longer in love and all that, apparently I did nothing wrong?) While we were separated I tried to pursuade Tracey to go with me to see Prince (the New Power Soul concerts in London) but she refused. We never did get back together. I met someone a year later and eventually fell in love again with Heidi. She liked Prince, not a massive fan though. Anyway get this for a coincidence... Heidi left me on the same date as Tracey (July 13) only four years later! Now Prince is playing in London again (for the first time in four years). I asked Heidi to go with me but she has refused! Am I living in some kind of time warp? 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

Of the guys I've dated over the years, none have liked Prince, if they did they only liked his pre-Purple Rain days.
Now I have a friend, who loves Prince as much as I do, from For You to ONA. Though we do have other things in common, I think Prince is a signifigant part of the attraction we have. We can listen to Prince all the time. We even get teased by others who think we are obsessed with Prince and his music. But we just shake those haters off and keep on groovin' with Where u wanna eat 2nite, baby? I know this dope spot called one another!
