They're not 'sessions' as such, it was a collection of unreleased Revolution-era tracks Prince was planning on compiling and 'updating', with a projected release in 1999.

It was first mentioned on the L4OA website in October '98. The message stated that W&L had been approached to work on the tracks as well, which they later denied.

1999:The New Master was released and IIRC, it was possibly one of the tracks for the album. Other tracks mentioned for possible inclusion were 'Witness 4 The Prosecution' (from Dream Factory), 'Splash' (from 1985 and later officially released during the NPGMC year one), 'All My Dreams' (Parade out-take) and presumably the title track (originally from 1984).

Not long after, the website also announced the 7 CD sampling set, which also failed to materialise.

Regarding a video, I have no recollection of a video for this project, you may be confusing it with the Crystal Ball video set, which was another unreleased project from the same time period - it was supposed to include videos for tracks from Cyrstal Ball (1998).

I think the video is only that warehouse
rehearsal from 84 where RG is performed.

BorrisFishpaw over at the quake has an incredible amount of info on unreased / planned tracks. All credit for this goes to Borris and housequake.com Some tidbits reprinted from here: http://www.housequake.com...use+garden

'Better Place 2 Die' is incorrectly titled, it's real name is Moonbeam Levels - it was recorded in July 1982 during the 1999 sessions, but wasn't used on the album. It's been on the cards for release several times since - it was included on the aborted 1988 Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic album, and it was also considered for inclusion on the Roadhouse Garden project in 1998.

'In All My Dreams' correct title is just All My Dreams - It was a Parade album outtake, recorded in April 1985. It was later included on the shelved Dream Factory album, and again was later intended for use on the aborted Roadhouse Garden album in 1998.

'She Wants A Place In Heaven's correct title is A Place In Heaven - It's also a track that was recorded in 1986 and intended for the Dream Factory album. It's yet another track that was considered for the 1998 Roadhouse Garden project, but still remains unreleased.

'Welcome 2 The Ratrace' is another mis-titled track, the correct title is In A Large Room With No Light - Yet another track from 1986, and intended for the abandoned Dream Factory album. Again, it was also included on the aborted 1998 Roadhouse Garden project and still remains unreleased.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

"Roashouse Garden", as well as "Our Destiny", "Go" & "Electric Intercourse", was a wonderful track! It's a shame that we only have these in live versions & with terrible sound quality!

back then, "Witness" and "Ratrace" excellent quality versions leaked, is this because Prince had revamped them and were subsequently pilfered?

When will Prince wake up and release the full version of "The Dance Electric" so we dont have to struggle through that muffled version with inaudible lyrics ????

JUST AS a sidenote I believe there to be both a live version of electric intercourse and a studio rehersal aswell . On the studio version at one point Prince yells out "Wake up Wendy" that always makes me giggle giggle

GO was my jam. The rehearsal one im talkin about. The studio one sounded kinda off.

The video was just the warehouse rehearsal in the green tint. They did do Our Destiny (a hot jam) and Roadhouse garden...(its aiight). its kinda tedious to watch. Prince kinda just jitters a little bit every now and then.

Im thankful I have it though.

I found Roadhouse Garden somewhere on the internet when I wasn't supposed to be looking for music. I love that song! It sounds like it's live and I have no idea what he's singing about...

Yes, in the sense that they made him discover pop & psychedelic music that he didn't know. In the same time, Eric Leeds was introcing him 2 a lot of jazz stuff he didn't know, so these 3 have had a lot of influence. Prince was a lot in2 Kate Bush at that time, too.

I think Prince's only "weakness" is that he never got too much in2 european electronica & in world music. Had he done so, his music could have been as much diversified as Bill Laswell's!
