Yes, they had a relationship. She's Always in My Hair was written for her. He always had other women as well, but from what I gather Jill was okay with that. My understanding is the final straw for her was when her part in GB was cut to shit. Some have reported that she didn't speak to him during the entire filming. confused
But regardless, her album was probably the best out of Paisley except for Sheila's. Shame it wasn't better promoted and took so long to come out.

The super fine Jill Jones !!!

Legend goes Jill ran off with Prince during the Dirty Mind tour I think that she was underage when she left home hence the line in Purple Rain ...

Jill: I have something for you.

Prince: What ? A supeona?

Jill had scenes cut from Purple Rain too.

disbelief I believe they met while she was on the road with Teena Marie as a back-up singer....

also, we're not talking editing cuts here- my understanding is that her whole role in GB was completely rewritten and left with almost nothing at the very last minute. I've read she didn't even know it until she was on the plane to MN. confused

Exactly. Damn, ya'll are good. Yeah, Jill was the backup singer for Teena Marie when Teena opened up for P during the Dirty Mind Tour. They hooked up then. Yeah, she was more prominent in the film Purple Rain. But it wasn't P's decesion to have her cut out then. It was Albert's. He felt J.J. was too weak. Anyway, besides P, Jill is really the star vocalist on the 1999 album. She's all over that album. And she's on Vanity6's album and The Time's What Time Is It and Mazarati's album.

J.J. left cuz she got tired of P's bullshit. I think she was madly in love with P (her mistake) and he took advantage of it. Jill was way too talented to waste it waiting around on P's little punk ass. She should have hooked up with some other producers who respected her as a woman and respected her talent. But she had Prince in her blood, so to speak. He was in her system. So...I think the way he did her in GB was the last straw. That movie and album was whack as hell anyways.

Interesting. Although I couldn't get into the movie, I found the album - minus the guest singers - very good. There are so many good songs on the album like Joy In Repetition, Question of U, We Can Funk, Thieves in the Temple, Elephants & Flowers. Dag, I need to go listen to it now. I think it gets a bad rap because of the film it is associated with. Were it not a soundtrack, I think it would get more love on its own merit.

Although, "Jill Jones" had a peculiar shape of a body, she was still sexy to boot. She wasn't bad at singing, either.

She's related to Berry Gordy too nod

I love Jill Jones,,,I thought her OWN pinned music is much better in her skin than the Prince-pinned song.

As gar GB, she's non-communicative with everybody on the set,,,speaking to them in FRENCH lol

I think its no news that Prince wasn't good with his protegees musically(Aside from Manic Monday, his songs for other artists worth shit) but she & Sheila were the "better" ones IMO.

Well, I wouldn't make light of that, if indeed it's true. But that would have something to do with it, if that was the case.

Wonders why people often think that he has had relationships with EVERY female protegees he worked with?

I mean, some of those relationships are confirmed by the ladies themselve: Apolonia and Susannah come to mind, but of course also Mayte and Manuela.

But i really doubt he has had a love / sex relationship with:
- Sheila E: this relationship comes over as a platonic, brother-sister like one
- Jill Jones: i really doubt it, she is too 'feministic', to strong for him
- Boni Boyer and Rosie Gaines: not his age and size-range...
- Ingrid Chavez: she played his love-object in Graffiti Bridge, but i am pretty sure Prince had a relationship with Anna Garcia around that period.
- Rhonda Smith: i just dont see 'it'
- Candy Dulfer: Candy is to 'calvinistic' and straightforward for him.
- The twins: they are really just 'posing material' for an older man i think.

Good point. That was the first album of P's that I DIDN'T buy. It was 5 years later before I actually bought that album. Sure, I had heard some tracks off of it from others, but it wasn't anything that made me go hop in my car to Tower Records. I do dig Elephant & Flowers, Joy In Repetition and Question of U. But see, I had already had the boots of those songs, including a different and better version of We Can Funk BEFORE that album was released. And that movie...I was sad for myself that I actually spent bread on that film. I was sitting in the theatre with all of these other P fans, and the vibe was like "Damn...". P was sooo out of touch that even his "fantasy dream world" was sorry. I don't know why the hell WB even fucked with that film. I can see why Madonna was like "Are you serious?...This script is worst than UTCM!". Actually, Madonna DID want to do that film but Sean Penn would have killed her so, that wasn't going to happen.

I will bet my house that Prince Roger Nelson has been with Sheila,Jill, and Ingrid.

And I would not bet against those other women. Hell Boni and Rosie both are big but they are nice looking sexy big women.

If brothers and sisters are having sex (LOL)

You missed the story from one of the owners of the 1st Ave talking about P picking Jill up and taking her into the mens room.

- Boni Boyer and Rosie Gaines: not his age and size-range...

Wrong according to those in the know he was with her as well.

( Unconfirmed Rumor)

she could've been joking but didn't someone post here recenlty that Sheila said something to the effect of "the sex was good" in reference to Prince on a recent game show or talk show?

i'm hard pressed believe he DIDN'T do Sheila at some point. Jill is a given.
Don't know enough about Ingrid, but she probably gave it up too.
