Dolphin.
It's just awful. I can't even explain how awful it is. It sounds like a song that the Bugaloos might have sung. http://www.youtube.com/re...rch=Search

And based on my siggy alone, you can always expect me to show up to defend this song. I haven't really felt it lately... but I'm convinced that I only connect with it when I really need some reassurance about whatever... I'm in a really good place right now, so the extraordinary glitter it had isn't as obvious. I'd say "Now" because I never listen to it anymore... it just doesn't fit in with scheme of things and I don't like that genre in general. Endorphinmachine, after three months of having the album, has started growing on me, but being familiar with Come (its original home), I've gotten more excited about it and I really get into it when I listen to it. Shy kinda bores me at times... but it has its moments. To me, it sounds like the first song he wrote for the final draft of the album based on the first verse (after a month of being alone... that's saying how he's spent all this time in solitary confinement, trying to write his music and such)... it has its moments. But Control, I'm not really getting into lately... I dont know what happened, I used to be crazy about that song had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. As cheesy "Gold" is as a song the soaring guitars at the end recue it for me

dear theo and kalvin u both 4 hating on Gold like that
now back 2 the thread, i really don't have a least favorite when it comes 2 this album ..but i will say endorphinemachine only 4 the fact that original version is sooooo much better than the released version with that cowbell man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

This is my fav album so its hard to pick, but I'll go with Shy If you will, so will I

"We March" undoubtably. Blatant filler.
I like "Shy" though, it gives the album a bit of an acoustic breakaway. Could easily be on Chaos & Disorder too. 'dre Tried many flavours - but sooner or later, always go back to the Purple Kool-aid!

I love this entire album but if I had to pick "We March" "Paisley Park is in your Heart"

I can't really fault any of the tracks! There is a diverse selection of songs which balance well over the course of the album! Most of the tracks i heard live first before hearing the CD (went to the first 3 gigs at Wembley Arena in 1995) so i will always have a special place for the album. "319" is legendary, one of my favourites and synonymous with the "Showgirls" film! "P control" is direct and has so much funky attitude! "We March" seems to knit the album together and i find it a lot Queen-esque! "Dolphin" is one of the most beautiful songs i have ever heard. "Shhh" is an indulgent ballad but tell me one that isn't? As for "Gold" it certainly does Glitter! Where have all the raspberry women gone?

We March.
IT just sounded like something from Diamonds & Pearls, to me.

I personally think the album loses 'momentum' with Now and 319.
Alltough Now sounds great live, the version on the album just doenst has it. I think Now should have been replaced with a (live version of) Freaks on the side, a song in the same vein, but then stronger. 319 isnt exactly bad, but it sounds too much as a one-by-numbers Prince song, a bit of a cheap Kiss rip-off. Interactive would be a nice replacement. We March isnt very great other anyway, but just okay.

A side comment on this album. I think it has been marketed badly. So many tracks on there that could have been great singles, but were never released as one:
I mean: - Pussy control: ultra catchy, wacky dance cut - Endorphinmachine: like some energetic mix between AC/DC and James Brown - Dolphin: one of his best 'perfect popsongs' ever, pisses all over Cinnamon girl and Fury - Billy Jack Bitch: ultra catchy, has 'hit' written all over it.

I listened to it about 3-4 times and dropped it out of the line-up altogether. And it loses momentuem just cuz every other track in the middle is a NPG operator... I skip through them, but even doing that kinda snaps me out the world I'm in when I listen to the album. We March does kinda work for me. It's okay, nothing compared to some of the other tracks. And considering how the album Come was written simulateously with TGE, We March works as a continuation or different twist on the idea behind "Race". Billy Jack is an AWESOME song... these days, it never fails to put a smile on my face. Cuz its one of those things Prince does best: make a song in one big, giant party before getting to more serious stuff ( hate U and Gold in this case.) had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone
