Just Saw 3 Chains O' Gold

Ok, so I finally tracked down the 3 Chains O' Gold movie.....Wow! I just really don't know what to say. I mean, it was exactly what I expected, music videos strung loosely together by a weak plot, but man! I wonder sometimes how he can make some of this stuff.

But then again, if i had that much money I probably would do some pretty stupid stuff too. biggrin

Anyway, the best part was Mayte (almost) naked!
If u and I were just ten feet closer, then I'd make u understand

As much as I disliked this movie/video compilation, I've seen it more times than "Call My Name" has gotten radio play. shrug

I think why its so bad it ...is the story line...
If it was just full length video...No story line...it would be cool.
With all the edits...just kills it 4 me

But if this was on dvd...i'd buy it lol

It's a really odd, disjointed affair BUT compared to Graffiti Bridge it's high art.

The music is a hell of a lot better, too.

Just found this review at IMDb...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0109014/

In the world of great film makers, many names always come to mind: Scorsese, Truffaut, Ford, and Prince. This is Prince's crowning achievement and also one of the greatest moments in cinema of the 1990s. This masterpiece showcases Prince's obsession with a teenage belly dancer during a tour with his band, the magnificently cast NPG. Also of note is Kirstie Alley in an Oscar worthy turn as reporter Vanessa Bartholomew. Cecil B. DeMille be damned because this is truly the greatest show on earth. The cinematography in this movie is breathtaking. The acting in the film is awe-inspiring. The music in the film is the greatest selling point because it is all written and performed by the greatest musician ever to live, Prince! The awesomeness of this movie startled me because I am not a fan of Prince. Highly recommended.

I like "3 chains o gold" a lot. For me it´s a collection of great music videos and it reminds me of a great period in Princes career. And Mayte looks stunning, of course...

Just because "fans" are honest and can tell the difference between quality work and utter crap shouldn't be of concern to you. Some of us respect Prince as an artist but don't worship the ground that he works on. He has released tons of great work but also alot of pure sh*t. Deal with it....

Far fewer will understand someone who likes these.
