Does Prince just perform on Madhouse 8, does he participate on the second album?

Does anyone have a perference over which album they prefer, Madhouse 8 or 16?

prince worote and performed everything on madhouse 8 with eric leeds. madhouse 16 was mainly written by prince the recording was various players.
madhouse 8 is better.

The majority of the tracks on 16 sound like instrumental backing tracks for the music Prince was doing at the time... it's almost like a bridge between SOTT, Black and Lovesexy. Fourteen and Fifteen are the only songs that sound varied to my ears.

8 is way better. 16 sounds too much like its trying to replicate 6.

8 is more traditional trio jazz and just works better. 6 is sort of a weird accident that worked.

IMO '8' is a much better album then '16': more varied, more creative.

'16' mostly consists of minimalistic funck-tracks that get boring quickly.

They're both awesome. But 24 is the best of all.
