Madhouse question

Does Prince just perform on Madhouse 8, does he participate on the second album?

Does anyone have a perference over which album they prefer, Madhouse 8 or 16?
Cheers

I agree and disagree as well. But I think 8 is the more interesting and varied album. With the exception of 6, there wasn't one song that was easily identified as Prince. The majority of the tracks on 16 sound like instrumental backing tracks for the music Prince was doing at the time... it's almost like a bridge between SOTT, Black and Lovesexy. Fourteen and Fifteen are the only songs that sound varied to my ears.

8 is way better. 16 sounds too much like its trying to replicate 6.

8 is more traditional trio jazz and just works better. 6 is sort of a weird accident that worked.

IMO '8' is a much better album then '16': more varied, more creative.

'16' mostly consists of minimalistic funck-tracks that get boring quickly.

GangstaFam

They're both awesome. But 24 is the best of all.
