I love it. But right now I'm addicted to Noon Rendevous from the "Neon Rendevous" rehearsal which I only recently acquired. Ask where they're going, they'll tell U – "Nowhere"

It's good. Not his best outtake, but it's good. It's not better than "Electric Intercourse", just to name one. But I've always liked "Better Place To Die". That's the title that I've always known it to be. I first got a copy of this song in 87 and I knew it was from the 1999 sessions. It's very, very close to "Free". Not as good as "Free", that's probaly why it didn't make it on the album. I always thought if Vanity6 would have stuck around for a second album, this would have been cool for them. I can totally hear Vanity doing this. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

Not necessarily his best outtake, but definitely one of them. Kicks the shit out of "Free," which borrows from it, but I always wondered if this song was actually replaced on the album by "Little Red Corvette" as the pop-rock number, considering that the beginning of "Moonbeam Levels" sounds like it comes right out of "1999."
Anyway, this is one of my favorite songs by Prince and I wish he would release the damn thing. Be ith the 1982 version, the 1988 version or a newly recorded version. I don't care, just put it out! I agree, Electric Intercourse is better. I think it's a sin that song was never officially released. Why he couldn't have thrown it on CB is beyond me- plenty on there is inferior to Electric Intercourse or Moonbeam Levels. Ask where they're going, they'll tell U – "Nowhere"

It definitely gives Computer Blue (full version) a run for its money. Oh man... when I first heard this song, it was truly Prince-esque to me. Only he could write something like that... and it just hits u in all the right places. And I think it sheds more light on who Prince is as a person, not the onstage/album alter-ego he creates thru his songs. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone | |
