What do you think is the strategy behind releasing "Planet Earth" to Europe on

the 16th and the States on the 24th of July? On the surface, it does not

seem to be a good commercial strategy.

Perhaps Prince is just trying to avoid competition so he can debut at #1, and

there doesn't seem to be too much on the 24th.

I'm hoping that "Planet Earth" is so hot that it's early release in Europe will

only build momentum for the American release!

U don't understand, it's all part of a strategy.
The release date for Asia will be 31 of July, for Oceania 7 of August and for Africa 14 of August.
I guess it's a smart move.

If the release dates are staggered, then it must mean that he has a lot of confidence with this project. What else could it be? Does he just want to give Europe some respect because he will be featured there for half the summer, and hasn't really played there for a while. It's possible, but I don't think that warrants an earlier release date.

Maybe he guess that the cd will reach #1 in Europe in the first week, and this could be a good bost for selling in the States and reach Billboard #1 the week after.

Getting back on topic now, jokes aside, what do you guys think of the

different release dates. Btw. Thanks for clearing that up for people,

booyah. I knew the, very nice Italian dude was bsing but it could be

misleading for some.

I just hope the other tracks of the album will be better than "guitar"!

I remember a massive strategy for either 3121 or Musicology, neither one really happened. I hope it sells really well, but somehow, I think it will do as well as the last 2 albums sold.

If u don't have a massive radio airplaying u don't sell, that's the truth.
