^ mplsmike, click on it, and you'll see a larger version. If you look closely, you'll see lyrics in the background of the image. This image was used behind other stuff on 3121.com in April.

Prince has released a lot of albums but it is always a very special day when he shares some new music with us. I remember buying most all of his albums the first day they were released...great memories and ready to make more.

Assuming the album features Wendy and Lisa prominently as it seems then one of 2 things will occur
a) people who love the album will heap praise on Wendy and Lisa and proclaim its largely down to them b) people who hate the album will blame Prince and just Prince Check out Chocadelica , updated with Lotusflow3r and MPLSound album lyrics April 2nd 2009 :

a bunch of hype when first released will be number 1 album its first week out no radio friendly hits so will die a quick death prince.org patrons will fight for months on what songs are good or suck on the CD(not album ) Dude, you don't learn it, do you (see Graycap thread)? From wikipedia: An album or record album is a collection of related audio or music tracks distributed to the public. The most common way is through commercial distribution, although smaller artists will often distribute directly to the public by selling their albums at live concerts or on their websites. The tracks on an album may be related by subject, mood or sound, and may even be designed to express a unified message or tell a story (as in the case of a concept album), or the tracks may simply represent a convenient grouping of recordings made at one time or place, or recordings whose commercial rights are controlled by a single record label. A group of audio tracks is considered to be an album if it has a generally consistent track list (often with minor differences or bonus tracks in different territories, or if the album is "reissued" at different times). An album may be released in a single format, such as on compact disc, or in multiple media formats, ranging from physical ones such as CDs, DVD audio, cassettes and vinyl records, to digital ones such as MP3 and AAC files or streaming audio. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Album

Does anyone know what else is coming out on July 23 in the US? I'm wondering if Prince has a chance at a 2nd straight #1 album.
Based on how paltry the sales #'s have been, I would think that P's die-hard fan base will probably push "Planet Earth" to #1, or else very close to it.

According to metacritic, the following are slated for release on July 24th. Talib Kweli - Ear Drum Silverchair - Young Modern Sum 41 - Underclass Hero Tegan & Sara - The Con Tiny Vipers - Hands Across The Void UNKLE - War Stories UK: 9 Jul Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! more interesting is what's coming out on July 17 that he or the label doesn't want to compete against. after all, it must be something big if they're willing to risk all those downloads in the US just to avoid the competition. that's a good point - it's odd that they would stagger the release like that, it only invites downloads. i wonder why they are doing it this way.

if the album's not coming out on 07/07/07, it makes most sense if it comes out on 16/07/07 becuase 1+6 = 7/7/7 ... he's into the whole numbers thing, as am I.

It's not a girdle, it's a corset! Wonder if he borrowed it from Madge? [Edited 6/7/07 23:14pm] "I would say that Prince's top thirty percent is great. Of that thirty percent, I'll bet the public has heard twenty percent of it." - Susan Rogers, "Hunting for Prince's Vault", BBC, 2015

What the hell kind of mess is this....a release date for Europe but unconfirmed for the States!? Has Prince forgotten where he came from?
I can't blame him though. Music here in the States is do damn dead that I would think about them secondly also. He should release it in Japan first. I hear they like to throwdown! Andy is a four letter word.
