I agree there are definately loads more!I knew those would get mentioned right away and rightfully so.As great as the Small Club solo of Just My Imagination is,I prefer the one from the Camdem Palace (I believe it's called) that was featured on the Cinemax special in 1989.

The end of a live extended version of She's Always In My Hair. I think it was a Providence, RI show.

Joy in repetition; studio is amazing but the guitars are mixed in the background for some reason

that tends to be the case with a lot of his songs, and is probably why he isn't heralded as a guitar legend outside of his fanbase.

So, so many.. not so much on record but on bootlegs of concerts.

a few examples -

On record

Empty room
clockin' the jizz

Naughty bootlegs

peach - the extended riff ( i have one particualr version and i swear to u that i listened to the same solo for over half an hr)

Days of wild (the guitar solo part tat was released on the NPGMC in the early days)

Purple rain - sometimes he nails it sometimes he dont. Direct hit on the livesexy vid. That opening note of his solo - it could last for ever

i could never take the place of your man (SOTT movie) - that bit when he's atop of the speakers. that spin he does is mint

a million others.

Most overrated solo

joy in rep from the it aint over cd. so so overrated and unispired. He did a far greater job on the emancipation freedom concert - he injected so much passion into it, it was an intelligent solo and drenched in emotion. the entire song arrangement was superior too

Purple Rain & Shh come to mind when I think guitar solos.

And Shh definitely carries an extra punch when I hear him do it live.

the guitar solo in the extended version of Darling Nikki is pretty hot... very good progression

Computer Blue is full of brilliant guitar solos... the whole song I'm still in love with.

Gold of course has a beautiful solo... although I haven't listened 2 it in quite a while.

Definitely Loose!, after he says "guitar solo" and the times b4 and after he does it... I totally get into it.

I think I could go on and on... guitar guitar guitar
had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

I remember the one he did for Calhoun Square at the 2002 celebration was pretty hot.
