tracklists for a 1987 disc (DF/CB/SOTT/Camille/etc)... updated. finally complete! What do you think would make a good collection for the outtakes from 85-87 that would make up the 3 actually released discs that year?
mine is as follows. but first, a note about why included some tracks and not others. i picked tracks that didn't have a lot of involvement from Revolution members. how i determined this was through the DMSR book, Days of Wild, a somewhat faulty memory, and by looking at which tracks he's released since then (like on the released Crystal Ball, he didn't put things on there that were Revolution-style tracks -- like Movie Star, The Question Of U, Sexual Suicide, etc.). that means a lot of the tracks from the early configurations of Dream Factory were left off. and the cut-off point was mid-87 for recording dates. the structure is based on the released track order of the 2 SOTT discs and the Black album. each disc is approximately 66 minutes long. artwork is like the black album. solid black. with a peach SOTT font. only "Camille" is scrawled on the front, witht he tracklists on back. Here's what I think. Great job! I can tell a lot of work went into this. One suggestion if I may: add Lovesexy. It's the perfect ending to a perfect story.

I would put "I would die for you" in there instead of "U got the look"...or maybe just put them both in, but that is just my suggestion. Other then that is sounds super fab Aaron. A job well done. [This message was edited Sat Sep 21 22:32:16 PDT 2002 by MostBeautifulGrlNTheWorld]

It REALLY would have been perfect!! Why doesn't he release this stuff? Is this a way to keep the legacy of his genius alive once he's no longer w/ us? I wanna hear this stuff NOW. I could die tomorrow - why would he rather me hear a hissy-ass bootleg instead of the real deal?? 'Cause I GOTTA hear it, I can't help it. Does he think those songs are no longer relevant? That can't be - he wouldn't have bothered to perform Empty Room if it wasn't relevant. That's just one of MANY gems & he knows it. RELEASE THE GEMS!!!

[This message was edited Sat Sep 21 22:32:16 PDT 2002 by MostBeautifulGrlNTheWorld] I Would Die 4 U is much too old. And with the Revolution. Doesn't fit the period this set is covering.

I've changed my mind, TRON. No disc 4! And that's the way it is It's already convoluted enough without another disc

I like this. Sprawling is good when it comes to Prince. That time period is so strong that all the songs are keepers. I have a feeling once these discs are made and you can actually listen to them, you'll just be marvelling at the wealth of great material recorded within a year's time.

Cool thread. I would definitely use "A Place In Heaven," even if you're already using "Movie Star." [This message was edited Tue Sep 24 7:55:33 PDT 2002 by tommyalma]

Ya know...it's the love of Prince that makes forget all those philosophical differences I have with people here. Nice work, Aaron. Fear is the mind-killer.
