You hit the nail on the head! Had he come right out and announced he wanted to do some filming and host a dance party, there still would've been plenty of people showing up. And I most likely would have been one of them. I'm sick of this cryptic BS. I'm sick of waiting in line in the freezing cold Minnesota winter for 2 hours for the *chance* to see Prince.

Alright. I'm getting tired and cranky and it's waaayy past my bedtime. As I know that- sadly- when he's home again from Europe and another "party" is announced I'll be back; waiting in that damn freezing line just to complain the next day.

Prince I promise when I come out to Minneapolis you can Spank me for any offensive thing I ever said to you. And you can also see my panties.
And I don't care, if it excites you you can Call me a whore a million and one times while I wear my garter hose and short mini skirts and low-cut tops. I'll be sure to wear loads of Red lipstick and bite into an Apple. I am Bad yes isn't it wonderful?
Listen whatever inspires Prince we all gotta do. Say it's for the cause and that's Prince. Prince is the Awesomeest Mf-er around. I say I'm needed for the cause. I know he likes our reactions and he likes games, but Prince just put me over your knee spank me tell me shut up and pull up my dress. It's all good and say you did it for the music. You did it for Art. God would understand completely. This most definitely is the Inspiration you need my thighs.

Man, glad I didn't fly out. The one time my brother and I did drive all the way to Paisley we were lucky enough to actually see a performance. Who ever knows with Prince. We deserved it though after the 3+ hours he made us wait in the sub-zero weather.

WE actually discussed this on the way home...AND came to the conclusion that those tend to be the best performances. The ones where you waited 3 fucking hours outside in 30 degree below zero weather.
Go figure.
That's Prince.
I summed up the eveing like this. It was kinna like buying a bag of weed, and smoking the whole thing, never getting high, ending up with a headache, & being up pissed it was totally bunk, and you just wasted your cash on it.
I hate that I am always to so willing to drop everything to go to Paisley anytime there is mention of a "party"

Oh well, better luck next time. I'm sure I'll be there in line, waiting to get in.

Be hopeful w/o expectations. Expectations, perceived as unfulfilled, can lead to all sorts of negativity -- anger, frustration, depression, etc.

I appreciate what did happen: it was a dance party at Paisley! It was great, as always, talking w/other Prince fans & making new friends! I love dancin there - I love that building - it's awesome! The stage setting w/those lights & drapes was excellent! The sound quality there is the BEST! Prince came out & sat in the back - it's always a thrill to see him! We were filmed at Paisley! Prince's staff were, as always, friendly, polite, professional! John talked with fans throughout the evening & then came out near the end & talked with & hugged fans! - thanks, John! I experienced about 3.5 hours of dancing at Paisley Park with fellow Prince fans - ALL IN ALL I HAD AN ABSOLUTELY GREAT TIME! AS ALWAYS, THANK U PRINCE AND EVERYONE ASSOCIATED WITH THE EVENT!!

I'm fairly new to this site, so forgive me if I'm rude but:

ARE YOU SERIOUS??

If I had paid money to go to a show and that happened to me I'd be VERY pissed! Is this the norm for people who are a part of the club that you join at that other site? If so, then I'm glad I didn't join (not that I would have anyway).

So they made it seem as though Prince would come out and play, complete with stage setup, and then asked you to ACT as though he really is playing? I'm sorry, but what the phuck kind of bullshit is that??? Is he trying to get sued or what?

ahhh shit! We were waiting for the fam attacks on these honest reports...

No one is saying we hate Prince for Fri at Paisley, it just was a let down...let people vent for cryin out loud... rolleyes

and, yes, I do still think it's rude to charge us to be filmed for his own kicks and not even ONCE acknowledge us...We pay his bills for cryin outloud, he seems to forget that quite frequently...

All that being said, it's all good..it's part of digging Prince and most of us know we'll be back. You can complain without hating...

Lastly, he's done this flaky crap so often that he's alienated a HUGE chunk of MPLS fans. People I knew who wouldn't have missed a nite 5 years ago got sick of these little stunts and would never go back. Which is apparent since he could barely get 100 people in the house on Friday

hey y'all..

no matter what, it's still mad cool that Prince opens up his place for people to party and he still WAS there. What you got was exactly what was said on the NPG site.. a party. It didn't say live performance or anything like that. So those who go expecting more than was stated are bound for a letdown sooner or later. If the site says party, next time go just expecting 2 have fun and don't expect a performance. If u all r having fun in spite of everything then Prince might really dig it and come out crank the jams! Just the opportunity to hang out at Paisley is a beautiful thing. What other celebrity does anything like that, ever? So don't be dissing Prince or the music club or paisley people, be glad 4 what u got, man.. life ain't so bad, u get to hang out in a great place. Enjoy it!

Like I said Cherry Moon Kisses these fans can't be Grateful for what they have or remember Prince is Religious. Give thanks for a wonderful evening spent with friends and try to see the fun and goodness in the evening. Prince promised nothing in the form of a show. I know I'd want a show also, but listen what do you want you've been seeing Prince for $7.oo for a long time. Hey don't be so Spoiled or Cheap! So many fans spend Airfare to see him from other states and countries . You don't know when you have it good. Remember it's all about Surprises and Spontenity with Prince. I guess you didn't Inspire him enough to make him wanna go on stage. God, Minnesotans you didn't give him an Erection? Or even a reason to play! You Gotta do Better next time if you want a Performance! What do you think? And you wonder why he's in Toronto? You don't show him enough Respect or Love. If he decides to leave completely then what? What would you do? You'd have to Spend to see him in Canada. Listen you never know this may happen. More people better show their support of Prince and honestly let him Feel your Love for him. Give him all you got!

I'm disappointed in Prince for not at least talking to you all, especially since he was using you to be a part of some type of creation he's working on. It should be explained why you're there from the beginning and what to expect. Seems like they took advantage of your NRG from having high expectations that something more might happen last night. Sad, I think.

Ok I've never been to Paisley but let me ask the 'regulars' this. Have they ever or do they ever say "performance tonight at the park"? Or do they usually just announce "party"? Or is it that when he plays they have said "Jam at the park tonight" or something. Do people just show up when they announce "party" with the hope that he will play as he has done many times in the past?

I'm just wondering. (hence the 10 million questions)

I thought about this too, but it SEEMS like all Paisley parties are just described as "parties", not necessarily performances. YET he performs a lot of the time OR it's cancelled.

It was a coin toss from the jump, but maybe if he'd let them in free there wouldn't be so much complaining. I dunno, I can't blaim them for banking on him performing - I would have thought the same thing.

So fine - you pay your $7 just to dance @ the Park, that's cool (most DJ's don't spin a lot of Prince anyway, so that's lovely) but don't put me to work w/ the "pretending". PLAY FOR ME OR LET ME BE...

Endorphin why would you be afraid of the Truth? Boy it just makes me think people from Minneapolis would be shocked at the cost of living in N.Y. And as for things being Free? What is that? Boy is that Funny. My God nothing is for free anymore. Things are mighty expensive and I think you are really lucky that you had Prince play in the past for $7.oo. It's just not always a Given.

Fans everything is all fine and good, but seriously Prince isn't always going to play at Paisley Park. Come on you weren't born yesterday1 Concerts are EXPENSIVE nowadays. Check out Face Value for the Stones$350,$250. What is Prince a Welfare Case below the Stones? No,and if fans can't afford his Price anymore you best stay home. He's done alot of Free concerts and $7.oo shows and it just don't seem like you are nice enough for him to Want to do more. Always complaining on this site about Trivial,Gossip and Petty Bullshit! Get Lifes already make some money and stop complaining about the Cost of things! You are Sounding like OLD FARTS! You kidding me at another concert they'd laugh your Ass out the Door! You can't pay with Buttons you all! Get Fucking Wise! Musicians have bills and their families like to eat so get Real and Stop Complaining! Nothing is Free! God,it seems like Some Prince Fans are Cheap Bastards! Work and Save and Stop Complaining! Pay what it costs and stop fighting already. Over$7.oo! That's Pathetic. Nonsense actually. Prince didn't want to play! End of Story! He doesn't always Play!

This is a good question. You know he tapes stuff for his own personal needs. Well he is going to put out the live ONA. I don't know if he's going to do a concert video again or maybe wanted the screaming and reactions for the ONA album. Who knows but Him. It's pretty cool and all you gotta admit the taping, but I know the fans wanna see themselves on camera cause they are all little Exhibitionists. Actually, unless they signed a release form he's not gonna use it publicly. So,I surmise it was just for fun to be Different. Once again these fans haven't a Clue!
