Rosie's voice--Anyone feel me??

Rosie Gains is my big sistah girl, I met her last year in Chi-Town's airport and you just can't help but to fall in love with her personality and dazzle by her beauty(Inside-out) cool, funny, smart, down 2 earth, mellow and anythang good you can imagine. I envy her friends 4 her and Prince should surround himself with her likes otherwise its his lost then!

But when it comes to her voice?? I don't like the way she use it, its so annoying. Don't get me wrong, she's DOPE vocalist and one hell of a songwriter but the way she use her vox in(Get off-Rave 2000 live) is just too much 4 my nerves and many examples. Sorry but thats how I feel about it.

However, I loved how she used her vox in "Cream" that was the best, "Nothing compares)", "D&P" and "I rock, there4 I am" are examples of how she used her vox in a good way.

There!

That's just not very nice. First you say how sweet she is, then you turn around and diss her.
That doesn't put you in a very favorable light.
Voice is an instrument, and the examples of the 'bad' vocals are examples of her voice being used as an instrument, important to the song as a keyboard riff or a string patch.
By the way her name is 'Rosie' not Roise.

I agree with you.At least I feel she is the best vocalist he has employed as a band member (altho ,Boni Boyer was also great, I think Rosie has a bit more range ).Id have to add , tho , that he also worked with Chaka Khan and Mavis Staples ,whose voices I also love .

I hope some (more) of the stuff Prince and Rosie worked on together eventually gets released .The NPGMC hinted around that she was re-joining the NPG back in the early days of the club , but this didnt happen then and seems highly unlikely now.

i'm sorry...maybe i'm the only one, but Rosie's voice gets on my LAST GOOD NERVE...

I think the Boni (RIP) could've been more in the spotlight had he given her the chance. I liked her voice most of all.

When I hear Chaka Khan at Wembley in '98 I got chills. Serious hair standing on end goose bumps!

When Prince came out for 'I Feel 4 U' it was pandemonium in there!

Rosie is great though. The combination of Rosie and Bootsy together on his new Album is mouth watering to say the least.

I love Rosie's voice.I think she was a great asset to Prince's early 90s music, particularly songs like "Cream" and "Gett Off".I would love for her to return to Prince's band and contribute more to his albums.

Am I the only one who think that Chaka's version of "I Feel 4 U" is betta than P's altho her piece was more of a catchy 80's pop but hey it didn't hurt nobody wink

Maybe I need to listen to Cream again 'cause I don't remember her voice anywhere on it - maybe that's why you like it, Harlepolis?? lol

I dig Rosie's voice - on Gett Off, Nothing Compares, Diamonds & Pearls, When Doves Cry (Nude Tour - ahhh, do me baby! y'all know that was hot!). Her voice is too strong to be resting, hope she's using it somewhere, somehow. She's the strongest vocalist Prince ever had, she could calm down on the scatting though (no dookie jokes, please).

Sorry, but Rosie gets on my last nerve sometimes. She dominates too much.

I was very silly once. When I heard 'Diamonds and Pearls' I used to always wait for my favorite part, "D to the I to the A to the M, O to the N to the D to the pearls of love."...love...

I thought it was a man!

The lady is beautiful though, in song and voice.

i got to say that i love Rosie. not only her addition to any songs, but i love her personality. i ran into her at the airport in MPLS after the Raveun2theyear2000. i had on a Prince coat and we just saw each other and walk up and talked about the show for awhile. She was sooo nice to talk to i had to say "gurl i know ya got a plane to catch" just so she would not miss her flight. i love her DoctorFeelGood... whaaa whaaa whaaa.
