Which P songs contain slang used by P which you don't understand? For me, it's 'double - drag' in 'Sexuality' and 'Let's Pretend We're Married'. What the hell is that?

A "few turbulence" in "International Lover" is the one that comes to mind.

If someone is a "drag," it means they are boring or a downer. So, I always thought that "doubl-drag" was someone who was twice as much of a drag. Maybe I am wrong.

Turbulence...as in on an airplane. When the airplane shakes. So, it means the "ride" is going to be full of motion and "bumping."

I believe "trolley car" is slang for a loose woman.

I had a girlfriend that hated "heckaslammin" because it was a made up word.

I LOVED it because it was made up...and it rhymed falloff

It took me FOREVER to realize what

"Tamborine"

*I don't care 4 1 night stands
With trolley cars
That juggle 17*

meant falloff

And I love it when he makes up his own slang vs using "the latest lingo"

I'm aware of the definition of turbulence; what I don't understand is the use of "few" before "turbulence". Being singular, one should either say, or in Prince's case, sing, "I anticipate turbulence along the way" or "some turbulence". In some cases, if one wishes to express it in plural form, one would say I anticipate "a few turbulences along the way". I just imagined "a few turbulence" to be some sort of slang. confused

I think he's saying "a bit of", or "a little". Not "a few".

If one performs a Google search of "turbulence", "International Lover" and "Prince", the results clearly show that the phrase used is "a few turbulence". Listen to the song, and it is quite clear.

I should say, we will experience some turbulence along the way, not a few turbulence. That part always bugged me, too.
