Jughead is awesome!!! does ANYONE actually like this song and is ashamed to admit it? all I hear is hatred for Jughead EVERYONE can not hate Jughead, so come forward and say you DO like it.
I dare you! would you like it with no Tony? could it be a funky instrumental?

I just like Prince's little rap there, HATE the rest of the song. Should not of been on D&P but on a Tony M solo album. Maybe Horny Pony or Violet the organ grinder should have taken it's place on the CD.

i actually think the song is funky (in a claire huxtable type of way)
but seriously...i can look past Tony M when i want 2. Instrumentally, Jughead is some serious funk. Same feelin i get when I listen 2 Black MF in the House

Out of all the Prince songs I have in iTunes -- only Jughead and Kamasutra are not allowed in my iPod. They gotta stay behind the velvet rope forever. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Most fans just do not like Tony M, and any song with heavy involvement from him is usually considered badly. The fact is, musically, Jughead is a funky stomping tune, a cousin to such songs as Horny Pony and Housequake in the sense it is Prince creating a song around a call-out dance move. No involvement from Tony M everybody would love this. Personally, I don't mind Tony Ms raps so much, and Prince's rap in this is cool. And probably the first song that expressed Prince's growing dissatisfaction with record companies and managers, so a bit of a landmark song actually.

I hate this song The credibility of the D&P album suffers due to annoying songs like this and Push

I'm proud to admit i like it and also liked the Tony M rap era.
Seeing them all live at Earls Court in the early 90's was the best Prince show i'd been to imho. A real party atmosphere, like actually being in the Gett Off video. Better than Nude, better than Acts 1 and 2, better than Wembley Stadium. Its all personal taste isnt it. Me personally - i love most of the D&P album. "Playing hard to get is getting hard to play".

I never really had any issues with 'Jughead' just the name cracks me up! But I always hear it getting slated, so I had to pay 'Mr.Jughead' a little visit for the first time in ages and give it some attention. I think it's pretty un-offensive, and a lot of fun, and if you REALLY listen, that track is banging! Just don't take it too seriously.
