That was just a Guitar World magazine list from a few years back. Seems like they were trying to cover a variety of styles, like they sat around a table and said "ok, let's get a Prince song in there". Just another mag list, and some of 'em seem to be in there for the riff rather than the solo...

Makes a nice 8 disc compilation though...

I call it ignorance.
He can out-do a majority of them artists with one hand, but that's the way it goes. I'm sure fans of these other artists are wondering why the fuck these tracks are listed and not the really great ones that they know from years of listening. Main-stream shitty oppinions for you!

Shh and Gold also have great guitar solos... Computer Blue, although technically Prince didn't write the "Father's song", is probably 2nd to PR (and goes to show that genius runs in the family & Prince has some great genes)

Not that everyone hasn't heard of Prince, but there are a lot of people out there that don't give him the same chance as they did for Led Zepplin "back in the day".

I wasn't around for those days. When my dad introduced it to me, I didn't really get it at first. But it grew on me. He told me that whenever it played on the radio, people would just stop what they were doing and let it "flow thru them"

I do have something against Stairway to Heaven: it's boring (a little like Purple Rain is). There are far better Zepplin songs out there.
