Personally, I think that Prince has handled the issues concerning his religous beliefs very well. I don't think that he's tried to force his views on anyone. And he's only talked about them when asked to. Now if he starts behaving like Tom Cruise and some of these other celebrity Scientologists? Then there'd be cause for some concern.

It doesn't really bother me at all. I liked TRC but I would not want another album like it.

If I ever met Prince, I wouldn't want him preaching his religious beliefs to me either. I also think he's a bit of a hypocrite as are most religious folks. If he wants to believe in the JW way, he has every right, just don't preach it to me.

i would LOVE to talk religion with prince someday, if i felt like he had any intention of listening to another point of view as much as i'd want to listen to him in order to understand where he's coming from.
I would too Anx.

Me Too! I would love to sit down with him and hear his spiritual thoughts. If it's anything like the insite that he has in his music....it might not be a bad idea if we listened to what he has to say. I feel liek he's very close to GOD. A gift like his can only come from one place! And a musical genius like that doesn't just happen!
If I could be muse 2 the Pharoah......

Well, i am. I think its sickening the way Prince is betraying himselve with religious dogma's.

The way he was 'preaching' to Wendy and Lisa about them being homosexual, that has nothing to do with dignity, but with him being brainwashed.

The creepy, ignorant lyrics from The Rainbow Children speak of a person who has lost his mind, not someone with true wisedom.

Jehovah Witnesses have no clue what life is about, they limit themselves in a ridicolous, painfull way,

Please, Prince, leave that crap behind.

This thread is so disrespectful.

Maybe if someone on here is rejected or disgraced they will see what's wrong.

Well here in America, where Prince is from, believe that people have a right to practice whatever religion they want, so I say preach on Prince if that's what you believe in.

Race you don't choose, and you can't "escape" from your race. Religion is (or better said should be) based upon free will and choice. One can abandon it, embrace it change it. Maybe not easily, but it is possible and there is nothing more personal than beliefs and wordldviews. So you can judge people freely on there religion. There is no god anyway, so I can't see the problem in it.

There is nothing disrespectfull about this thread.

People lowering themselves to 'sectarian religion' are plain wrong.

Next to that.

This whole JW-crap has a negative influence on Princes musical output.

I mean: the rainbow children, a creepy, ignorant album that should be forgotten as quick as possible, Musicology and 3121 are calculated, restrained albums showing a Prince who has lost sense of reality and wisedom.

Why are you baiting and rehashing the same ole' anti-JW stuff that's been discussed a thousand time already?

simple, because the whole JW-movement is brainwashing themselves in a painfull way, just like the fundamentalistic evangelists and the scientology church.

It has nothing to do with spirituality, its about people fooling themselves with halfbaken, incorrect religous dogma's.

And the ones spoiling this thread with paragraphs from the bible, are the ones who are most brainwashed and spoiled.

There is no truth to be find in a censored book like the bible, its only your own insights and experiences that count.

when you need some old, censored book to 'express' yourselve, that tells a lot about your lack of spirituality.

That's your opinion. P has put out work that was just as negative or unfulfilling according to a lot of fans before he became a Witness. Jughead, the Batman album, Kamasutra, Come, Emancipation...

The problem with brainwashed christians is that they apply parts of the bible on others that dont give a lot about fables. No, i will not read that passage from the bible. Its the smallminded frame in wich you manouvre yourselve, it has nothing to with my reality.

I dont limit myselve to a simple book, i think and feel for myselve biggrin
