PrintableThe true acid test is when you are putting together a list of your fave album tracks. In my top 10 would be Adore, Sign o the times, Strange Relationship, Forever in my life, The Cross and The Balled of D.P.
Although I don't think every track on SOTT is a masterpiece, song for song I cannot find another album that compares. So what if we're controlling all the oil, is it worth a child dying for? --------------------------------------------------

I was 17 when this album was released.After the first time I listened to it,I HATED this record.Like most 80's fans I was looking for PURPLE RAIN pt. 2.A month later I listened to it again, it was like a different album.
Several months later when the SOTT movie was released I became a life long Prince & SOTT fan. So I can see why some would not like the album,but listen a LITTLE lomger. | |

After Purple Rain my fandom waned a bit. After PR, Sign O' the Times revived my interests. If you ask me, Hot Thang is down-right funky! And what's not R&B about Adore? | |

There are numerous fast tunes on Sign of The Times. Adore is one of the best RnB slow jams ever written. I hope you are not comparing Sign of the Times to the crap that is suppose to be RnB today. If you do not like this record you really do not like RnB music or know what RnB is in the first place. | |

well, i think it is funny for anyone to post something using Prince, or one of his albums, and hate together in the same sentence, on a website dedicated to the man and his adoring fans. but, what do i know? i am only 16, and a fairly new Prince fan of only 3 years. but, I think to be a fan of any artist's work, and then promote that you hate one of their albums, is whack. it is hard to call oneself a fan, and then say you "hate" one of their albums. i guess i am weird because i am in love with all the Prince albums i own, and i can shake my ass to all of them. but as someone said earlier, everyone is entilted to their own opinion.

That album is a true masterpiece. Prince at his best. Think about it...he gave us romance w/ Adore, made us tap our feet w/ It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night, got raunchy w/ It and then threw sprituality at us w/ The Cross. All on ONE album! So maybe, foxylee, you meant to say that "you don't care for it" or "it sounds strange to you"...but HATE??? Just can't be. Well put, Jedi !
