Two rock operas from his royal badness but which one is better. Coincidentally, Strays was actually meant to be an opera or ballet of sorts but never panned out. And 3 Chains was the first of its kind from Prince. But which is better? My pick. 3 Chains of Gold. I've always liked that song. How about you?

I love both of these epic songs, but I have to go with Strays of the World on this one. It's slightly more epic.

I'd have to go with 3 Chains O' Gold. It maintains my interest more through out the song. I like Strays as well but sometimes feel it drags a bit (and was why Prince left it off of Come).

They're both very cheesy & great at the same time.

I'd go with Strays because it doesn't remind me of Bohemian Rhapsody like 3 Chains, also because it doesn't have the lines:

"Give back the chains!! If You don't you'll die!! Nothing should come between you & I!!"

Three chains is crazy but I love it! I like feeling that I'm listening to three songs in one!

One is just as great as the other! Love'em equally!

'strays of the world' just feels more like a balls-out arena anthem rocker, while '3 chains of gold' registers to my ears as the overblown melodrama of prince trying WAY too hard without any quality control from the outside. it just sounds silly when mayte has her anguished little voiceover...and the happy little up-tempo guitar parts make me think of wayne and garth bopping along to the music in the back seat. it's just completely silly. i'm sure one day i'll listen to it and giggle so much that i'll love it for its hideousness, but that day hasn't happened yet.

meanwhile, i like 'strays' FAR better.
