hi, i was watching a programme on irish tv, where sinead o connor was a guest, when asked about working with prince and how that song made her she said that she ade him alot of money thru that song & vice versa, anyway she also said that he called her 2 his house 2 complain about her using bad language in her interviews so she told him "2 go fuck himself" and thats when he got physically agressive with her?????
she said he was very strong and was a very messed up guy back then.
i have 2 say that in my heart of hearts i don't believe this story,
what do the rest of u make of this????

no neither do i, she's not wel liked in ireland and she thinks she's a rebel,the incident where she ripped up a pic of the pope was nothing short of disgusting

I remember there being discussion about this, but it was a long time ago. This story is just plain bullshit.

I NEVER believed this story. Prince just does not strike me (no pun intended) as a woman beater. Of course, you never know someone until you know them, but I just can't see it. Sinead is a drama queen anyway, and she just doesn't come off as truthful to me. In all these years with all the books, rumors, speculation, etc. I've never read or heard anything about Prince being physically abusive to women.

I always think of Sinead's story when I listen to this verse of "Days of Wild:"

That was the first image of him that I got when I saw Purple Rain the very first time... the 2nd half of the movie anyway.
When I saw the movie, I truly thought he was playing himself cuz I didn't know what else to think, I was just introduced to him. These days, I can truly seperate him from the character he plays, although they do transcend one another in a couple of scenes (primarily, the last 10 minutes that would forever change me and make me a "fan").
But the way he portrays himself as being in control of his music was how I preseved him to be and I understood that. It's just the way geniuses are.

I think he slipped in and out of character in Purple Rain. Sometimes it was him, other times it was The Kid. I think he would be protective of his music like he was. And i think sometimes he could just snap, although enough to hit a woman I don't know.

All I know is the look on his face before he hit Appolo was...freaky. Too convincing or something...but hey, maybe he's just a better actor than we all think

But the man is definitely very protective of his music. In one interview, he got a little bent out of shape over the fact that people can cover his music and he can't say a thing to stop them. Makes me feel bad for him. The man has dedicated his life to the music, his songs are like children to him, so of course he'd be protective of it. I admire him so much for that.

She didn't do good research for her lie. Prince back in the day, was knowen for using bad language all the time. To think he'd be upset because someone cursed is a far fetched tial. It'd make more sense if she said this happen around 2000-today. But i think she made this claim before then. correct?
