It was June 2001 or 2002? I believe Prince filmed an unreleased Rainbow Children documentary of this event..Anyway I'm curious to know what input Prince gave at the discussion groups with fans and moderators..and what topics? Anybody go to this event? smile

I was at the week long Xenophobia Celebration in 2002. Prince played every night and had guests open for him like Norah Jones, Sheila E, etc. The shows were filmed on digital equipment.

The 2001 Celebration was filmed by Kevin Smith and never released.

xenophobia was the 3rd Prince: Celebration. It did not include The Rainbow Children/Kevin Smith--that was the year before.

Page 246 from Possessed by Alex Hahn states Prince held his second annual Celebration called Xenophobia. I thought he had more than just 2, then Xenophobia was the last celebration? Another error in the book I bet.

There were three official Celebrations:

Prince: A Celebration
7-13 June, 2000

Prince: A Celebration "The Rainbow Children"
11-17 June, 2001

Prince: A Celebration "Xenophobia"
21-27 June, 2002

True, although it wasn't described as an official Celebration.

Whilst the events staged followed a similar format to the previous year's week long events, this was slightly different and wasn't billed by the organisers as 'A Celebration', but rather dubbed a mini-Celebration by attendees.
