The 1980-1988 era

Lets settle this mf once and for all.

Is there ANY artist in the history of music that has such a sequence of style so different and creative from one release to the next? Especially for 8 consecutive years.

I cant think of any. Other artists have many great consecutive releases, but none so diverse.

I'd have to say yes... David Bowie.
(In fact I'd have to say that he beats Prince in the diversity stakes)

Joni Mitchell. She's gone from almost classical arrangements to folk, pop, jazz, various examples of world music, rock, etc...
