Has Prince ever used a choreographer?

Does he come up with the dances he does on stage and in videos-like for instance, did he have a choreographer for the Boys and Girls Video, the Sign of the Times movie and also the concert footage of the Parade tour in '86 that was broadcast.

Cat Glover helped out with a lot of choreography during her time with Prince specifically on the SOTT and Lovesexy tours.

If memory serves she was also responsible for the 'U Got The Look' video. geek

Yes, many times. Fatima Robinson (the baddest choreographer alive, imo), Sean Cheeseman (Cream, D&P, Gett Off), Moses Pendleton (Batdance), Jamie King (BetchaByGollyWow, AMA performance & the 96 VH1 Fashion Awards) just to name a few.
Here's an interesting quote I found from Fatima:

"I'm a street dancer, no matter what," she says, explaining why street shoes are allowed inside, a huge no-no in conventional studios. Now, at 35, she has recently developed an interest in directing. But is performing fully out of her system? "I just go over to Prince's house for a jam session, and I'll dance in my own world. Get my groove off!" Enough said.

Must be nice. . .

Mia Michaels did some choreography for him during Rave era. There are a few seconds of footage on her website (and she mentions him in the bio section, too). I hate her choreography style and I hated the dancers' choreography from Rave Un2 the Year 2000 so when I found out that was her's I was like, "Oh, no wonder I hated it."

If all of the above is true, then my vote goes 2 Moses Pendleton.

If he helped 2 choreograph the Batman videos, then he probably helped out with the Graffiti Bridge videos also. Prince was steppin' hard in these 2 eras. I've always liked the choreography from both the Batman and Graffiti Bridge eras, and the style is indeed similar.

I do think that Prince creates a lot of his moves...

The 'Sign O The Times' moves were some of my favs.

Then there's the Wooden Leg.

In spring 1989,I saw MC Hammer on MTV,bragging that Prince called him up and asked him to choreograph his upcoming 'Batman' videos eek I don't think it ever happened.A year later,I heard that Prince called Paula Abdul and asked her to choreograph the performance scenes in the 'Graffiti Bridge' movie.I think she was too busy and had to decline?

I think he did because in an interview that Diamond and Pearl did in Australia they said that they pretty much reproduced what Sean did for the videos and added their own stuff. But Diamond is an experienced choreographer in her own right, she's done stuff on Broadway.

Mayte is just as much of an "opportunist" as Mani...I never understood why she gets all the love and Mani gets all the hate--they're like two sides of the same coin, imho.

Probably because Mayte kicked ass onstage. She just tore it up around '93-'94 especially at those Glam Slam Miami shows.

but..you know what they say..behind every good man stands a strong woman cool
mani may not have been up front and in your face like mayte, but that doesn't mean she wasn't working equally hard behind the scenes. I still believe she had alot to do with Prince reaching out more to his fan base. Think Paisley Park parties. Also, think about the fact that around the time the divorce was filed NPGMC lights went out.....
