Who did Prince write this song for? I thought it was to Mayte but then I read that he wrote it for Ophelie Winter.

All he had to do is call the song The most Beautiful girls in the world. But it's not very personal and hard to sing.

I saw the video, there were several girls it and Vanessa is on near the end for like a second or two...but that does not mean the song was originally about her, was it really?!?! I have to know!!!

She was in the video that in the beginning it opens with the woman in the wedding dress. And shows many different women looking either into future dreams, or things that have already happened to them. Hope that helps.

I don't think they dated...I think he was just trying to get a wide variety of women. The older woman at the end of the video, was a teacher from the Minneapolis area.

Yeah...she is only towards the end, because all the other women you see aren't actors. They were real women he picked. I remember Prince put an ad in the paper looking for the Most Beautiful Girls in the World.

I didnt think it was for anybody, with the video and all, I thought it was just something symbolic for all the woman who are special in your life and beautiful in your heart.

Vanessa was the one standing at the podium. As for the teacher...all I knew was she was a local teacher starting a some program for kids in need. But as far as I know, she wasn't Prince's teacher.

My take is that it's written for Mayte. He just can't play it anymore since the break-up in 1999.
