Create-a-Gig

If you were in charge of a Prince concert for one night, what would you do? I'm talking band line-up, costumes, set-list, venues and everything.

It would probably be called "The Lower Ninth Ward is on Planet Earth too"...and it would be a charity event. Have to think about the details.

Wasn't the Lower Ninth the area that was overlooked when it came to funding? Either way, there are so many overlooked places on this planet. Any would apply.

Gig #1

Prince: Unplugged

Band line up: Prince and an acoustic guitar (maybe a few songs on the piano)

Costume: shrug something basic like pants and a nice jacket or shirt.

Venue: small, in the round (Maybe that Highline Ballroom place, although I haven't been there)

Set List: I would leave it up to Prince, but I would stipulate no medleys. "You start the song Prince, you better finish it!" lol. I would just love to hear how he would re-interpret them.

Some of these might be interesting though:

Space
Forever in My Life
An Honest Man
Free
Space
Good Love
Pink Cashmere
Crazy You
7
Dolphin
Mountains
Elephants & Flowers
Sign 'O' the Times
4 the Tears in Your Eyes
I Wonder
Last December
Old Friends 4 Sale
Don't Play Me

Gig #2

Too Funky Tour

Band: Prince, Sheila E., Rhonda, Dr. Fink, Miko. I'd like another female on vocals, but not sure who...maybe Shelby (haven't heard her enough though), and possibly someone else on keys...Lisa? Small horn section: Mike Phillips, Eric Leeds only for a few songs, though.

Costumes: Nothing too wild...I mean everyone's pushing 50, right? No uptight ONA/Musicology suits.

Venue: A variety--from mid-sized theaters (e.g. Nokia) to outdoor stadiums.

Set list: Funky. And no medleys! (in no particular order)

Days of Wild
Funky Design
Dance On
Mutiny
Sexy Dancer long version (w/special appearence by Andre so 3 guys can recreate the dance steps from the Dirty Mind tour razz )
America
I Wish U Heaven (extended)
2 Nigs United for West Compton
Party Up
Return of the Bumpsquad
Redhead Stepchild (not sure who should sing this though...Nikka Costa?)
Anotherloverholenyohead

---

I would so LOVE to see him do an acoustic/unplugged tour. I think it would be frickin' awesome. drool
