I recently discovered stylusmagazine.com and have been having a ball reading their "On Second Thought" album reviews, where a staff member reviews an older album.

Maybe you've seen these, maybe you haven't.

I'm a huge fan of good music writing and these were very good.

definitely some interesting stuff on ATWIAD (the only one of the 2 that I own)...

but I really don't agree the stuff said.
Seemed a little hard on "Condition of the Heart"... and harsh on Tambourine & Temptation.
Sure, Tambourine isn't the best song on the album... its the shortest and I think it has earned its place.
Temptation is perfect, I wouldn't change a thing about it.
And actually, with regards to "Pop Life"... I never knew "what u putting in ur nose" was all about... but it does make it make some more sense. This song is underrated cuz it isnt talked about much... and its my favorite song on the album.
And The Revolution I think is the greatest back-up band he's had... but I don't really know enough about the opposition to be sure... but if anything, they gave several good contributions to the album... even if it was mostly Lisa & Wendy

Interesting reviews. I decided to do a search on the name Prince and they gave Musicology a 42.....I know people don't really like it but thats HARSH!!

They did give Musicology a negative review, but I don't think the number is a rating. If you do a search of anything on that site, a list comes back with numbers in descending order (highest to lowest). I think those are "match" numbers for your search. The more an article has the word "Prince" the higher the number. I did a "Prince" search also and things came up that were not related to Prince himself. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think the number is a rating of the record.

Could be possible since when I looked up some other stuff they had on him it really didn't make sense.
