Mavis Staples mentions a funny fact about Prince in new Rolling Stone. Mavis Staples is coming out with an album of spirituals and she was in Rollingstone; they mentioned she worked with Prince and she told a funny story about how Prince went over to Pops Staples and called him Junior. Pops got so angry that he yelled at Prince, "What did you call me, boy?" Prince was so freaked out that he ran away, literally ran away. Mavis talked about how he ran away in his pumps. haha. I think Mavis is a bit peeved at our Prince. Prince did kind of forget her, as he forgets others he has worked with.
Funny though. Imagine his bitch ass running away from an old man..lol. Must have reminded him of when his pops got angry..lol Po Prince. All you others say Hell Yea!!  | |

he recorded especially for her when her father died. it was called "pops was cool" as far as i can remember. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps | |
