Question on a quote

My man and I have had a debate the last few days. He says he heard Prince say a while back that sex is his God. That anytime he sings about God and Love he is singing in reference to sex. I find that hard to believe, but I may be wrong. I've always thought those many songs and others were beautiful.
But the question is, did he really say that?

In the end, what matters more, how the artist meant for a song to be understood, or the happiness and pleasure you take from the music?

I think you're man has it twisted.

I've read a quote saying that He never felt closer to god than having sex, and also in the Beautiful Strange vid with Mel B he talks about sex being a 'spiritual union'. So it's virtually the complete opposite.
