Well Batman was a proper soundtrack the way soundtracks were meant to be done. It had a theme, a focus, and it fit with the film. Girl 6 was simply a collection of songs that wasn't made for the movie per se. I like Batman better.

That being said I like both albums and don't understand how any self respecting Prince fan is gonna hate on either an album with "Scandalous" on it, or an album with both "Erotic City" and "Pink Cashmere".....

Both are excellent! To me, "Girl 6" is just a compilation album with a few "previously unreleased" tracks. And "Batman" is more of a "proper" Prince album.

Girl 6 is a nice collection of old Prince songs, and they're remastered! The album also offers some new tracks, so Girl 6 is a must-have among Prince hardcore fans. I listen to it often.

Batman is an excellent album. I don't consider it a soundtrack (like the Danny Elfman album), it's an album inspired by the movie, and half of the material is just stellar: The Future, Electric Chair, Partyman, Vicki Waiting, Scandalous, Batdance...
