It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Here's one of my personal favorites, despite how sappy it is.
"You're the perfect picture of what love should look like and I wanna be your frame"- A Million Days I'm in love with the whole 2nd verse of Little Red Corvette... it showcases Prince's vulnerable side. "Act your age, not your shoe size"- Kiss "Eye hate U, becuz I love U, but I can't love U, becuz I hate U"- Eye hate U "A world of never ending happiness, you can always see the sun, day or night"- Let's Go Crazy's intro (it makes me smile) "Overcast days never turned me on, but something about the clouds and her mixed"- Raspberry Beret The bridge of TMBGITW that starts with "if the stars ever fell 1 by 1 from the sky..." and ends with "this kind of beauty is the kind that comes from inside." I know, I've got a few sections longer than tidbits here, but I them all. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

"Can we go to a movie and cry together?"
"Its in his will, I read it, he shot to kill, he said it" "Those that know the number and dont call - $%^& y'all" The lyrics in my signature. <3

'Instead of a smile I'd rather see you cry' (2 the 9's)
'Like the ruins of Rome, I lie helpless at your feet' (Dreamin About U) 'Loving you in silence knowing that it's right...' (Soul Sanctuary) 'I need to get out of this city, I need to get you out of my head, I need to get away from the words that you said to me' (Man O'War) 'Love's in your eyes, eyes never lie.' (Slow Love) 'Now my dear all you are to me is an old flame, and when it burns out, I'll be free of the mouth, the lips, I used to kiss, my baby, my little nasty miss' ( I Hate U - Extended Remix) 'Don't have 2 say I miss u, cuz I think u already know' (Comeback) 'Sometimes I want to die and come back as one of your tears, If I could just disappear, cease to exist, cease to be here, if you don't want me I'm not worth the air that I breathe, I wish I could disappear' (One of Your Tears) 'Love's too weak to define, just what you mean to me' (Adore) Remember when u told me that love was touching souls?
Well, surely u touched mine. O{+>

4 of my favs are:
"Sometimes I wish that life was never ending But all good things, they say, never last" - (Sometimes It Snows In April) "When we're kissing long and hard I can almost taste the thoughts within your mind" - (When We're Dancing Close And Slow) "All that's wrong in my world, U can make right U are my Savior, U are my light 4ever I want U in my life" - (4ever In My Life) "At first couldn't find the words 2 say How much U've changed my life in every way Now just want 2 thank U each and every day Te amo corazón" - (Te Amo Corazón) "From the first moment I saw U,
I knew U were the one" | |

I've never heard the song (or most of these), but I"m curious about it. And the 2nd one, is one of my personal favorites because I feel like I could say that to Prince. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

"Sometimes I wish that life was never ending
But all good things, they say, never last" - (Sometimes It Snows In April) This one is the last track from the album Parade (1986). I think it's a great song; I never get tired of listening 2 it (although it always makes me cry). Get the album if U can; it's fantastic! U said that the 2nd one was one of your personal favorites because U feel like U could say that to Prince... Bad girl, DreamyPopRoyalty "From the first moment I saw U,

I think a lot of important moments in my life wouldn't have been the same without Prince music, if U know what I mean... You're a "new fan", aren't you? I've been a Prince fan for years and I still feel like the first day each and every time I listened 2 his work Yes, I still am a roughly new fan. I've been a member here for 7 weeks so that's when I began my journey, I guess you could say. I really love learning more about him every single day, especially when I'm discovering a message each album is trying to get across (I did that with TGE & Purple Rain). Thanx for your comments. I'll say this, though. I'm kinda glad I came in as a fan at the age I am now. I don't think I would have appreciated Prince the same way if I was younger than say... age 13. I'm 20 going on 21, so I'm old enough to understand certain issues and I do appreciate the result of the hard work and dedication Prince has done for his brilliant music. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. What cha puttin' in your nose?
Is that where all your money goes? The river of addiction flows U think it's hot, but there won't be no water when the fire blows (Pop Life) Don't say that no man has ever tasted your ice cream Baby, U're the purple star of the night supreme (Automatic) And we will see a plague and a river of blood And every evil soul will surely die in spite of Their 7 tears, but do not fear 4 in the distance, 12 souls from now U and me will still be here - we will still be here (7) What if I called U silly names Just like the ones that U call me? (Billy jack Bitch) Hear the words I'm sayin' Feel the sex I'm layin' Naughty's what I wanna be with U 2night, 2night (Girls and Boys)

I think U're right when U talk about age: there are a lot of Prince's lyrics, for instance, that surely a younger person won't understand. But, as far as I'm concerned, it was a bit different: my brother's 11 years older than I, and he loves Prince too. So, when he started playing his music, I was 13 or 14 more or less and of course I didn't understand everything as I do now but there was something about him that I just loved from the first time: his music, his voice... Now I look back and I feel very fortunate 2 have been able 2 enjoy him during all these years! Hope U will feel the same! "From the first moment I saw U,

Now I look back and I feel very fortunate 2 have been able 2 enjoy him during all these years! Hope U will feel the same! Over the 7 weeks I've been in this crazy world Prince has created thru his music, I've enjoyed every minute of it. It feels incredible to be a part of something this huge, especially with people that know exactly what you're talking about. I feel like the past few days have been kinda chaotic, dealing with the hustles and bustles of college student life. I love the world that Prince takes me to with his music and it helps me forget about the fact that I can't stand mainstream music (especially when some of the students here were blasting it). But there definitely was something about him that made me unable to look away. When he'd come up on TV or w/e, my eyes would be glued to the screen. His movie, PR, hooked me initally, but with each performance I saw by chance, I didn't care what he sang. His presence was all I needed, just made me so happy to gaze at his Greatness. I already do feel fortunate to know of Prince's music and I definitely appreciate his art (both music & lyrics) a lot more than I would have a few years ago. The one song "Gold" has already helped me a lot and I hope to find others that will continue to do so for me (and I hope Gold never loses meaning for me along the passage of time). had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. "Like an embryo baby, don't abort this dire need 4 ya
All my emotional ejaculate on the floor" (I Like it There) "Now where I come from We don't let society tell us how it's supposed 2 be Our clothes, our hair, we don't care It's all about being there" (uptown) "What's the use of bein' young if U ain't gonna get old?" (gold) "How beautiful do the words have 2 be Before they conquer every heart? How will U know if I'm even in the right key If U make me stop before I start"? (dolphin) "Old, old friends 4 sale Get'em while the gettin' is hot But U better watch out, they'll kiss U until they get what U got And they'll show U the friends that they're not" (old friends 4 sale) "What's the matter with the world 2day? Land of the free? Somebody lied They can bug my phone, and peep around my home They'll only see U and me making love inside" & "I just can't stop writing songs about U" (call my name) "Did we remember 2 water the plants 2day? I forgot 2 look up at the moon because I was 2 busy, said I was 2 busy I was 2 busy looking at U, babe Still it's nice 2 know, that uh If bodies wear out we can get another What does that one thing have 2 do with the other one? I don't know, I was just thinking bout my... mother" (reflection) I could go and on! [Edited 3/28/07 19:28pm] Ask where they're going, they'll tell U – "Nowhere"

If she led a good life, heaven takes her soul Now that's a theory and if U don't wanna know Step aside and make a way 4 those who want 2 go Gold... I think out of all of the verses in the song, that one's my favorite. Probably becuz its the most crytic... but it's very uplifting above all else. It's like a peaceful, beautiful, the perfect resolution 4 the album as a whole. It sums up everything the song stands for in the sweetest possible way and I love the way he delivers the lines. If the chorus doesn't send me off in tears the past 2 times, it's almost guaranteed to do so after I hear this verse and the last airing of the chorus... It just resonates so beautifully... sorry, I'm getting a little emotional over it. but I'm had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

But I don't find that lyric cryptic at all DPR. It seems very straightforward. And of course goes into one of my other favorites lines, posted above- "what's the use of being young if you ain't gonna get old" Why do you think its cryptic? PaisleyPark5083 said: I have that one listed as one of my fav's!! It's a feel good song I could go on forever and for several pages why it's tied 4 first place w/Purple Rain. Sure, PR is classic and it never gets old 4 me no matter how many times I hear it. But "Gold" means something to me. It's already helped me a lot and sometimes Prince himself lends a helping hand thru the song. It's a very feel good song. It's good for my heart & soul and when it comes to mind, it puts me at ease. My mind, heart & soul unite over this song and that's what makes it special to me above all every other reason I could come up with. But we're getting off topic. Here's one of my fav. lyrics from Musicology (album) "Eye never seen the moon look so lovely as the night eye saw it with U. It let me know that eye'd never seen the moon b4."- Call my name "so many speak of the moon as if it had no flaws"... in the case of that lyrics, I feel like I speak of Prince as if he has no flaws. I don't compare him 2 the moon, thu. But it's the truth. I truly think that he could do no wrong, that's why I hate to say that I don't like one of his songs since he put a lot of time into it to make it perfect [in his eyes]. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong.
