The 1986 Parade Tour footage from Detroit-question

You know the concert that anotherholeinyourhead video came from (the crowd dings happy bday to Prince during the concert)-i watched it last week before housequake yanked it-and at the end, there were credits. Does anyone know what this was filmed for? Was it a special, was it ever released on VHS?

I think the copyright was "PRN", which leads me to believe Prince owns the copyright on it. But I don't think it was ever made to show on TV, at least not in the US. It's never been officially released.

That's crazy! I think that is best Prince concert footage I have ever seen. It sure seemed like it had been released.

I saw the original version of this in 1986. I think that it was going to be released as a concert like SOTT, but as far as I know, it has just been in the "underground" circuit. I even remember seeing it on cable when it came out but I wasn't able to get it unitl it was available "underground". I'm sure someone else can give more information on this one.

It was officially broadcast on TV back in '86 (I've still got my home-taped
copy of this, complete with ad breaks!), but it was never released commercially
on video or DVD (which is a shame).

As Boris pointed out it was broadcast in 1986 in Europe and Japan titled "Parade Live". The Japanese version is slightly shorted and edited.
One version exists with "Soft And Wet", the other without it.
