The singer's six-month residency at the Rio Hotel & Casino is slated to end on April 28, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. After playing weekend gigs since November at the casino's 3121 nightclub, the Purple One seems poised to hit the road in support of a new album. His Web site now features a teaser video in which a screen of static crackles and then clears up briefly, revealing a glimpse of Prince standing over a floating Earth with the words "Planet Earth" splashed across the page followed by "coming soon, summer 2007."

April 3, 2007 8:51 a.m. EST Joshua Chase - All Headline News Las Vegas, NV (AHN) - Prince's run at Las Vegas' Rio Hotel & Casino is set to end soon, with the musician opting to turn to touring. Prince, who started performing regularly at the Rio's Club 3121 (named for the singer's latest album) in November, will play his last six Vegas shows between April 13 and 28, according to reports. On tour, the singer will continue to support "3121," which was released one year ago and marked Prince's first No. 1 debut. Most recently, he contributed the "The Song Of The Heart" to the "Happy Feet" soundtrack. The song won a Golden Globe. It sounds like MTV knows nothing more than we do. It has been said from the beginning that the Rio contract was from November thru April.And for the New Album And Tour: I think they based that info on the teaser...
The second article states that the supposed tour is in support of 3121 and not a new album.. To me it doesn't matter I am just hoping he will tour in Europe, no matter what album he is supporting. | |
