Has anybody ever replaced Prince as your favorite singer for a while? This, of course is addressed to those who's favorite singer is Prince. Have you ever teperarily dug another artist/act more than Prince only to have Prince regain his "throne"? If so,who and what made you return back "home"?

ahh.....nope! unless my 3 year old counts! kidding aside, there have been periods of time (around certain-better-left-unnamed albums )where I didn't listen to him much- and spent time with other favorites of mine, but no artist EVER got to me so much to even look at Prince's "throne"! At times, I've even been grateful for what I call his "off periods" so I had a chance to do other things. My Prince attachment has always been so loyal/intense/addictive/time consuming, sometimes I just need a break. Ask where they're going, they'll tell U – "Nowhere"
They've taken a lifetime lease on Paisley Park ...

I like Maxwell. Love his voice. But, for the life of me, I can't ever remember one of his outfits! I like Lenny Kravitz. But, I was never as obsessed as I have been with Prince.
I loved Jom Morrison. But, he's dead. I loved Jimi...he's dead too. I loved Freddy Mercury's voice. He's also dead. I do remember some of his outfits, though. I loved Tu Pac. He was assasinated. I loved Rick James, but he went to prison, and cocaine killed his heart. Drugs, too much sex, alcohol. No...no one can replace Prince. He does it all...has it all, and has kept it all with a strong mind. Others had "genius," but let the fame and adoration ruin them. Not Prince. He is and always has been the only one at the top of my list. "Let love be your perfect weapon..." ~~Andy Biersack

I went to R. Kelly concerts and have all of his music for the last 10 years, he and Prince have a lot in common. I still visit his websites often!

I know the feeling, I call them my Prince sabatical, but recently I think I'm in a Prince immersion. I seem to have had a reawakening to music due to Robin Thicke and realized again that Prince is the ultimate in music. I love what he does to me...Ithink I have a mild crush on Robin, but I'm infatuated with Prince!

Each to their own i guess No doubt, I can't stand R Kelly especially after the piss incident. His music shows he has talent ( I believe I can fly, Step in the name of love) but his recent features and the in the closet saga just rub me the wrong way...

no Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Ha! Maxwell, R Kelly, this is some pretty funny shit. I don't get the maxwell love, the guy has done nothing original, his voice is pretty standard and he has none of the artistry that people like Prince, Bowie, Dylan, Lennon, hell... even Terence Trent Darby (and that's even a stretch) has.

yep. I managed to escape a number of times
1st 'n' briefly Bowie 2nd'n' 4 a longer time Dylan Then John Cale and David Byrne I was lucky.

for some years in the 90s I was HUGE into Bob Marley. In the back of my mind, I knew Prince will always be #1... but during those years I played Marley a LOT more than I played Prince music.[img][/img] [Edited 3/24/07 10:00am] Good morning Ladies & Gentlemen,
