OK, imagine Prince wasn't a one-man music machine, but a 5-piece band (Prince on vocals, Prince on guitar, Prince on drums, Prince on keyboards, and Prince on bass) - how would his musical career be different? How long would the band have stayed together? What would end the group? Would the world end with 5 Prince-sized egos in one room? Would his music be richer because each Prince would have the boldness to say "no, that sucks", or would it be blander because all 5 would want their instrument to be involved in every recording?

My head hurts.

I think it would work because he seems to have different and distinct personalities on each instrument.

Guitar - Complicated, varied influences and styles, bored easy and shifting directitons. Crowd Pleaser. Show Off!

Bass - Pure Funk

Drums - Quirky and underrated, I love it when he writes from the drumkit (Tamborine, Dance On, Irresistable B) Unique stylings.

Keyboards - Beautiful gospel, jazz and classical drenched colors. Very complimentary and occasionally showy

Vocals - There would be a cool tension with the guitarist because they are both virtuoso bad asses!

Where's the spotlight gonna go?

Would he get mad at himself for running over his own tape with a new song on it with his own bike?

All in all, I think it would be great. I mean, individually, at the end of the day they would know they had the talent. They could justify anything to each other as to why one sound is needed more than the other, and they would all know what the other one was thinking. I would stay tuned.
