This is why I can't take this forum seriously. You people just don't get it, I mean almost none of you. I'd bet real money that Prince appreciates and respects Timberlake, because Timberlake appreciates and respects the art itself. Justin writes and performs not to be a poster boy, but because he loves the music, and appreciates the art. His music isn't groundbreaking, but it isn't stagnant either. If you really listen to what he's doing, you can tell he has fun with it.

In fact I would really like to hear what he could do with "Hide the Bone".

For God's sake people just listen to what he's doing, and stop assigning expectations. You'll likely find something you like.

clapping I agree.

1. Justin is just a pretty face, that doesn't make him talented
2. Prince writes his own music and plays several instruments. Justin doesn't play any instruments.
3. Prince has more variety in his music and lyrics, Justin's songs are all about the same things and sound alike.

1. Nope. He doesn't even have a pretty face. biggrin He just has producers with talent that make it seem like he's good. But honestly, the music is what's good about his songs, not the actual lyrics or his singing.

2. JT does play piano and I think acoustic guitar. He played the piano at the Grammys twice.

Justin's talent is like K-Fed's compared to Prince.
Say it's just a dream...
U open up ur eyes and come 2 realize
u simply imagined this
So u lean over and give her a kiss
Here on earth, here on earth,
with u it's not so bad
Here on earth, here on earth
eye don't feel so sad
Stay right here

Don't even go there. K-Fed is even further down on the food chain than Justin.

Kevin Federaline only got famous because he married Britney Spears... he has no talent. I saw his first performance at the Teen Choice Awards last summer... what a waste of time.

That couldn't be any more of an insult to Prince.

I respect and admire Prince and I can dig JT, but to COMPARE the two is ridiculous! There is absolutely no comparison. For JT to say he is influenced by Prince is true (any artist worth his salt can look up to someone better) But does anyone defending JT think he'll be gettin' into the Hall of Fame? OR that another artist will say "I'm heavily influenced by Justin Timberlake? falloff

well i recently heard that Justin in fact confirmed that those lyrics were directed to Prince. When asked about his feud with Prince, he said to listen to the lyrics of his recent song.

He does. He plays piano and acoustic guitar. But he's still a dickhead. biggrin

Has the "sexy never left" comment ever been confirmed? I thought it was a rumour.

Anyway, if JT gets offended over that, he needs a thicker skin, Prince coulda said alot worse than that.

And what does the "we saw you on tv "i just wanna clear the air"" line mean? Prince didn't say that did he?

How old are you? 12?

To answer a punkass callout is to dignify it. It ain't worth his time.

I've seen Justin play guitar, BUT I can't help notice that he seems a bit akward holding and playing the instrument. He looks like someone who just learned a few chords from a Mel Bay book.

Prince was Justin's age when he released the Purple Rain album, and I doubt Justin could play anything like the guitar solo from "Let's Go Crazy" or "Purple Rain" or even the intro to "When Doves Cry".

You know, for a washed-up, really short old guy, Prince, you know he's alright. He just needs my help to produce a better sound. You see JT is the now and Prince, you know, he was cool when the Vietnam War was going on but JT is for today.

Yo Prince, give me a call. Me and Timbaland will pay you and visit and you can borrow a couple of our beats.
