It's pretty much always there because Prince is not very forthcoming about himself, but some of it just cracks me up!!

Take, for example, his love life. If he has even a FRACTION of the action people think he's gettin' more ass than Wilt.

All over this forum there is speculation. I don't want to point out specific posts. In general it go like...

"Prince was seen with three women. Don't know if he's dating one of them but with Prince you never know..."

Kinda implying maybe he's dating one...maybe he's about to have all three...

That's just an example...it happens a lot when it comes to Prince and women but it also happens with other subjects.

Speculation about Prince's behavior is pretty much always there, because Prince is not very forthcoming about himself.

Let me clarify.

Prince keeps his personal life personal. Those that are interested in his personal life tend to speculate about him. I gave an example of a speculation about his love life.

I think it's partially Prince's natural shyness... and partially Prince pushing the "mystery" angle... it keeps fans interested and talking like we see on the message boards...

Well I like Princes perspective as he said both on Larry King and Tavis Smiley that it says more about the person speculating than it does about him.

I think he has become less shy with understanding himself. When Matt Lauer asked him whether being mysterious helps sells records he was like "I'm not so mysterious, I'm pretty much an open book and people who know my music I would say know me."

I don't find him "mysterious" but rather frustrating.

His music isn't the open book he says it is. It's what he wants people to see. What I find frustrating is the times he won't just come out and say something.

Take, for example, when he stopped swearing. In interview he's said it's because there are children in the audience and he's matured a bit. But in Las Vegas you had to be over 21 to get in and we still heard "Spirituality" and "Four letter words, will not be heard, not on this stage tonight."

So there's more to it.

Either speak about it or don't. Not everything calls for smoke and mirrors.
