Hi ya'll. I am writing a paper for college on a famous Minnesotan, and I have picked Prince to do the paper on. Anybody got some great info that I can add to my paper? It's due on Tuesday...Thanx

i did a paper on him for one of my classes before, but i got all my info from like old mags with articles on him, i used this on book i have about him thats autobiographical, and some websites.

There's a book about him called Possessed: The Rise & Fall of Prince by Alex Hahn - if you don't already have that - that should be a good resource too. I'm currently reading this book & it seems to detail his career pretty well. Best wishes on your paper!

Some things to add (I won't go into detail, but you can research):

• Infamous feud with Warner Bros. over ownership rights of master recordings
• Name change to an unpronouncable symbol
• Loss of newborn child to rare cranial disease
• Married twice
• One of the pioneers of online music distribution (not the first, but among the first)

I hope you mention the fact that he has released about 33 albums, which he mostly arranged, composed and performed by himself, and has thousands of unreleased material, as well as being able to play about 23 different instruments. Now that's worth mentioning.

And when you do your paper, make sure that you show off Prince in the best possible way. Make it something that he could be proud of if he read it himself.

If it goes over well, you can try sending it to Paisley Park. Although I doubt he'd get to it, it's just a suggestion.

And make sure you spend us a copy when you're done. I'm interested to hear what you have to write about him. I might even learn something, lol, but with Prince, I'm always learning.

You can give the teacher a copy of the Hits/B-Sides attached to your paper. A little bribery never hurt anybody.
