Yes, he does!! So your saying he flies a spaceship, hangs out with a jedi and some droids on the weekend too?

Oh man!! This is my kind of thread... not to mention my thread "Finally" has been a huge success because I just saw the movie for the first time exactly a week ago.
When I first watched the movie, I tried not to think of "The Kid" as Prince himself. I don't think that "The Kid" is identical to Prince in real life, but they do share a few things in common. The love scenes with him and Apollonia are very believable, i.e. I can see Prince taking that approach himself. And the conflict between him, Lisa & Wendy, I don't think he'd take it to that extreme in real life, although he can seem rude at times. I wish this thread was around last week cuz the notions I had in mind after seeing the movie the first time are pretty much gone... I just watched it to see Prince in a speaking role and also to look at his pretty face. Anyway, to a certain degree, they do have things in common, but there was a lot of things "The Kid" did that Prince would never do... I can't think of those things right now, though... But, in the very end of the movie, during the last 8 minutes, I felt like the true Prince came out and was the person performing "I Would Die 4 U/Baby I'm a Star" because he just had that stage presence that he's always had. The presence that initially mesmerized me and made me a fan initially. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

I definitely agree with what you're saying. I definitely see paranoid, jealous... yes and no, insecure, most likely.. and hot-tempered... definitely As for the last thing... I'm not sure. Probably not as cruelly as he did to Apollonia, but in other ways, its possible... I mean, we are talking about Prince. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. With some of the music he writes, I think he kinda has to be. He seems very :clears throat: knowledge about such things, but he always pulls them off musically with style. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

OK, I usually don't bring threads way up, but this is important.

Why can't you do it? Why can't you set your monkey free? Always giving in to it - Do you love the monkey or do you love me? Why can't you do it? Why do I have to share my baby with a monkey? [Edited 3/18/07 18:56pm]

I wonder if the monkey was Prince's idea or someone else.
Either way, that scene cracks me up when he has a conversation with it. "You don't need those girls or their stupid music. All you need is me." Prince gives it lip. "Man, I don't know. Life's a bitch." Love that scene. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

I love that scene, too, although my favorite part is when he says, "The nominees for Best Actress are..." "Just like the sun, the Rainbow Children rise."

Oh yeah, that's great. But would Prince use that sarcasm himself? Or does it reside only with his persona of "The Kid"? I wonder. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone
